Infertility

Confused

We have been TTC for 7 years on and off. A few doctors said I had PCOS and I took metformin, didn't work, lost weight, didn't work. Tried Clomid, didn't work. We don't have money for IUI or IVF. My periods are usually far apart but happen every month just about 35 cycle days. My New doctor said based on my blood work I don't have PCOS. This past January I had a normal period Jan 17th. Nothing since then. I had dark Brown discharge on March 5th and 6th but nothing else. Confused. Has anyone else had a similar situation?

  • You need to be evaluated by a reproductive endocrinologist.

I think also think you should see a reproductive endocrinologist. 7 years is a long time. Don't waste your time at an OB or gynecologist. If you have health insurance it should at least cover diagnostic testing.

  • I was told I had pcos when I was 17 but my RE just told me few months back that he doesn't think I ever had pcos.
Also, I just found out last year that I don't ovulate. Clomid didnt help either. I had to take bravelle shots to help and it did help, just didnt get me a bfp but that doesn't mean it didn't do what it was suppose to do. Your obgyn can order you bloodwork to check if you ovulate. That may be your issue. ?
