Hey girls, Do you have any suggestion when it comes to belly creams? Right now I use mama bee but I just can't take the smell anymore and that is too bad because I love burt's bees stuff.
Palmers cocoa butter forever!! Mothers special blend oil is supposed to be great too but I am all about the palmers. It smells soooo good (I agree with you about burt's.. Don't they know we pregnant ladies are sensitive?!) and its rich and absorbs quickly
Palmers gave me a rash. I am all about the body shops body butters, especially mango and coconut. They are loaded with the most effective oils. However, you can load up on any cream and still get stretch marks.
I love to use the shea butter massage bars from LUSH. You can choose from tons of smells and they feel so good on your belly. I used them all throughout my first pregnancy and have already stocked up for this one.
I use Aveeno. It's great for sensitive and dry skin and has a very faint natural smell. It has taken me 15 years of trying out various lotions and this is the first one I'm 100% happy with. Keeps the skin super hydrated but...apparently it doesn't matter what you use as stretch marks are more genetic anyways, so I would say just keep moisturising with whatever you like!
I made a body butter with cocoa butter, shea butter, coconut oil, almond oil and Young Livings lavender and frankincense. It feels awesome and does a fabulous job.
Through advice and the experience of family and friends, I truly believe cool showers, lots of tummy butter, and slow weight gain (important!) does LIMIT stretch marks. Doctor agreed that this is a tried and true method, so that's what I'm aiming for! Good luck ladies!
I use Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil. It smells very botanical (which I like), but doesn't linger too long. It's on the pricey side, but I love it and the ladies at the Clarins counter were singing it's praises since its great for reducing the appearance of existing stretch-marks and preventing new ones. I consider it my mama-splurge.
Personally I would recommend a product called Celtrixa. Some of you may have heard of it or seen it advertised. As far as i know it can only be ordered online or via tv. I havent been able to find it in any store. When i was in high school i was overweight, the biggest i had/have ever been in my life && i was really self conscious. I then began to develop dark pink stretch marks on my stomach., (keep in mind i had never had stretch marks before && had never been pregnant before). I tried several different over the counter products && nothing seemed to work so my mom seen the Celtrixa commercial on tv & decided to order me some. I used it once sometimes twice daily on the stretch marks until the tube was empty and they practically disappeared.! It was a drastic change && I was amazed. Not long after i became pregnant Celtrixa came to mind so i did some research && discovered that it's perfectly safe for pregnant women. Maybe thats something you can check into..
