Fever at 12 weeks

I tried searching and haven't found any posts. Anyone 12/13 weeks and have a fever? It started at 99.5. Went to 101.5 later today. I've taken Tylenol. I don't feel sick just tired. I'm keeping up the water. I read fevers in first trimester can be dangerous.

Re: Fever at 12 weeks

  • Does you doctors office have a provider on call. If so I would call just to be on the safe side. Especially since that is your only symptom.
  • Ditto @kjjellybean. Keep up the water as well.

  • Ohh. I do have a bumpy itchy rash. It seemed to start with this. I put on hydrocortisone and showered again. It's not itchy anymore. Still a little rashy. I feel a little achy and tired now. Thinking it's definitely a virus. I talked to my doc earlier with the rash. I didn't have a fever at that point so I didn't ask about that. I'm keeping up the fluids. Thanks ladies.

Where is the rash? I got a terrible, painful, itchy rash on my back last year and it was Shingles. I put coconut oil on it and it healed it much quicker than antibiotics would have.

Maybe it isn't that but thought I'd throw it out there just in case.

    Feel better!

  • Shingles can cause a fever and a rash ... I've never had it so don't know much about it, but it's worth calling your doctor about it. In the meantime, good call on taking the Tylenol to keep your fever down (a cold washcloth on your forehead also helps).
  • Don't take more than 3250 mg per 24 hours, and I was told that anything under 103 is not dangerous. I would still be freaking out I'm just like that. Sometimes insurance companies have 24 hour nurse hotlines you can call if you have questions. And if you don't have that service call the Dr office and see if they have a doctor on call you can speak with. Take care of yourself. Drink lots of water.
  • Thanks so much ladies! Mine must have been a 24 hr thing. I'm feeling so much better this morning. No fever. I only ended up taking Tylenol 3 times. So only 750 mg total! Thanks for the answers! And
