Sometimes I Forget I'm Pregnant

edited February 2015 in September 2015 Moms
I'm in that awkward point in my pregnancy where, at 10w1d, the placenta has taken over, so I don't feel gross or have any symptoms, but I haven't hit the second trimester yet, so I'm very tired very often. Still, aside from the fatigue, I haven't started to show yet and I don't FEEL pregnant. I saw a heartbeat at 7w5d, and have no reason to assume anything is wrong, but it is SO stressful, waiting for my next appointment at 11 weeks. It is so hard to believe everything is ok in there without any sign of it on the outside.

Is anyone else in the same boat?? This is my first pregnancy - I don't know what is normal or not, and it's so hard to think that, since I'm carrying a brand new life, that I just wouldn't feel it, but I swear, half the time, I simply forget I'm pregnant! I feel like I'll relax a bit if everything comes back ok next week, but in the mean time, I so just want my bump to start showing!

Re: Sometimes I Forget I'm Pregnant

  • I'm the same! But I'm running after my two little boys so I always forget! Soon we won't be able to forget! And I find I always feel at peace with baby after an appointment but as the days go on I get nervous that something went wrong - love the reassurance of a doctors appointment!

  • I'm there with you! I'm 10+3 and feel totally normal! I don't feel bloated, chest isn't massive, and I'm not nauseaus. We've seen HB 3x on vaginal u/s, latest at 9w when gummy bear was wiggling so why are we still nervous? HB was 180!

  • I'm with you! I'm 12 weeks and all of my symptoms from weeks 5-10 (bloating, extreme fatigue, etc.) are gone. It's easy to forget you're pregnant when you feel totally normal again, but I definitely welcome feeling normal again! Just had my 12-week NT scan yesterday and baby is in there wiggling and jumping away ... it's amazing! I'm looking forward to having the obvious bump and eventually feeling the baby inside :)
  • At 11 weeks+3 days today's the first day I don't feel pregnant, but I can't deny the bump.
  • I don't feel pregers untill in half way through shopping at target and I need to sit down
  • I'm so glad you posted this because I feel the same way! I'm 11 weeks and I last saw the baby wiggling and doing well at 9w but I am so paranoid something is going wrong. I have not really have many symptoms to begin with (I'm lucky) but the ones I have had have gone away and I forget that I'm pregnant most of the time. I think once I have my 12w NT scan, I can see the baby, and I go into my 2nd trimester I'll be a lot more calm. Glad I'm not the only one feeling this way! I can't wait for my belly to pop so I know something is really growing in there. :)
  • Oh, I am so, SO glad that I am not the only one feeling this way! It is so stressful, being in limbo and just WAITING. It would be so reassuring to have some physical proof that baby is still in there and ok!

I'm feeling the same way at 10w1d. I can't help but think something is wrong :( I feel like most of my symtoms have all gone away except the exshaustion. I have to keep reminding myself to stay positive! I saw my baby's heartbeat at 7w4d and it was 134 Kinda feeling that maybe that was on the low end compare to others at that gestation but my midwife told me not to worry! I think my last pregnancy that ended in a miscarrige is weighing heavy on my heart and mind :( I go for next appointment Friday I pray that everything is ok. Thanks for sharing your post it sounds as if I'm not alone and that it may be completely normal to feel this way!
  • I haven't had many symptoms and don't feel pregnant at all! Just heard baby's heart beat on Thursday and all is fine, but other than being insanely hungry, I feel exactly the same as always. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and get an ultrasound within the next week, so I'm staying positive. But it is totally weird and nerve-racking that I don't feel pregnant
  • I'm almost 13 weeks and am still in that boat. Fatigue is really the only symptom I've encountered. I've had a few appointments, first sonogram and also heard the heartbeat via doppler last week. I still don't feel pregnant. You're definitely not alone!
