I've been on prometrium since 4 days post O (so almost 8 weeks) but no side effects except the positive one of a sticky baby what do you mean pregnancy mask?
I am on bio identical progesterone (have been since getting my bfp- now 10w6d). No pregnancy mask on my part and no side effects that I can differentiate from HG and normal pregnancy stuff...

it when you get dark spots on your face . blocky like or dark around eye and nose .
I read it due to hormones and i am having two and on extra hormones so maybe that y. this is going to be my next question to my doctor.
My first baby came a month early so the doc will be administering progesterone at week 15 so hopefully this baby will be full term or at least not earlier
I took progesterone since finding out that I am pregnant but haven't taken any this last week. I stop once I hit 12 weeks. I have felt so much better and have more energy since I have stopped. I took Prometrium by mouth right before bed to reduce symptoms. Progesterone makes me feel drunk and gives me headaches.
I take it to prevent early miscarriage due to a history of low progesterone and miscarriages. My last pregnancy my initial progesterone results came in at 7! I took supplements the first trimester and my bouncy baby boy was born full term.
I've been on crinone since 3 weeks and hate it! I feel like it exaggerates all pregnancy symptoms including nausea/vomiting and tiredness- starting to decrease my dosage now as I'm 11 weeks, can't wait to stop it all together
I have been on it since week 4 with 6 more days to go until week 12 when I can finally stop. Besides the annoyance, I did develop bacterial vaginosis...my doc suspects it was caused by repeated use of the applicator. I am only given 2 per month so I wash them...I was pretty pissed when I found out.
@nikkimatousek could you ask your doctor to switch you to prometrium? They wanted to put me on crinone but the cost was too much for me. Prometrium is just the generic/a previous drug that came out! Same positive effects and may make you feel better?
I've been on prometrium 100mg for almost a month because of low progesterone levels (9.9) I haven't noticed any side effects and have never developed a pregnancy mask in either this pregnancy or my last. It makes me feel better to take it knowing that it will help my baby "stick" and my OB said she has had great success using it to help prevent m/c and I had early cramping and spotting and none since:) Luckily I've only had to take the small pill at bedtime, not the injections or suppositories so I'm sure those methods are more likely to cause side effects!
I do not react well to progesterone in any form. With my first I took the shots which made me violently ill and unable to intake liquids. With this baby I'm taking the 100mg pill three times a day. I'm not nearly as sick but still not able to get down liquids well. I've never had the mask but the pill makes me very dizzy and unable to drive, bend etc

My dr said there are no physical side effects from the progesterone, have you found that otherwise true? I didnt take it with my first.
