What if no one comes?

My DS will be 3 soon and I would like to have a party. We live far from family (>12 hours) so I know they can't make it so I was just planning on inviting the kids from his daycare room but am worried no one will come. He doesn't have anyone he plays with outside of when he is at daycare. Am I being irrational? Had anyone had this issue? What do I do if no one comes?

That's what we did with our children, always did something for them..... We went to sea world one year. Had dinner with mickey and friends another year.....
