Greasy hair?

I'm six weeks pregnant and I've noticed that my once full, shiny hair is now limp and greasy. It feels like the moment I wash it, I need to wash it again. Does anyone else notice this happening to them? If so, do you have any tips or safe product suggestions? Thank you ☺

  • My hair has been doing the same thing. Its greasy after one day, even dry shampoo doesnt seem to help it.
  • I'm 6 weeks also and my hair is super greasy. It even feels greasy while shampooing. I usually have dry hair. I have very think long hair and it used to shed like crazy but now I noticed after a shower just a few strands come out! I'm going shopping for a new shampoo right now. I think the "clarifying" shampoos might help.
  • Same here. It gets greasy a lot faster than it did. Then again my face is producing much more oil as well :/
  • Ladies your hair will be the healthiest, thickest and shine at its ever been during ur pregnancy. And you won't lose much at all.
3 months post pardom u will lose a ton and then again when u stop breastfeeding.
  • Mine is too.
I normally only need to wash my hair every 3 days, and I barely last 1 now.  I've heard most womens hair gets thicker during pregnancy but my hair is already normally really thick and healthy, it just feels off lately, I am hoping this doesn't kill it. :(

  • Yes! I had no idea it could be a pregnancy thing - I'd been blaming it on a product switch, but this makes more sense. I already have very fine hair (read: greasy after 24 hours), so this "extra shine" is not my friend. :P
  • Ive just now hit the greasy hair stage =[ right after i shower and my hair dries, it looks like someone poured oil on it. I wanna cry. Anyone find anything that has helped them?!!

Mine was unusually greasy for a while. It gets better! I don't know exactly when it went back to normal but I'm16 weeks now and it's the way it was before. But I've always washed it everyday just never got into the habit of skipping days and now I just can't commit to it. Maybe after baby I'll be too tired to wash it everyday long enough to get into a different habit!
  • @swillow321 try shampoo, rinse and then shampoo again leave it in for 5 mins then rinse again.. Apply conditioner only to ends of hair AVOID roots !! My hair is super dry and frizzy and if I go one day without washing it's greasy !
  • I had the same problem!! I asked my hair dresser about it and she said use baking soda with your shampoo. But only once or twice a week as it strips your hair of the oils(you want some there). I tried it and it does work. :)
  • I use baby powder and it works great for me. sprinkle it on my hands then run it through my hair then brush it out :) it's probably the same effect as dry shampoo I would guess
