Sibling names for Riley & Caroline - opinions/options

We're currently expecting baby # 3. Only 7.5 weeks along, but it takes time for names to grow on my husband so we start tossing around ideas pretty early on.

We have two little girls, Riley and Caroline.

Here's what we're thinking for a girl

Riley, Caroline, & Madelyn
Riley, Caroline, & Amelia

For a boy, we're thinking

Riley, Caroline, & Jack
Riley, Caroline, & Judah

I'd love to hear other options and opinions on these :)

  • I love both of your girl name choices. For a boy I vote for Jack. I'm not a fan of Judah.
  • Madeline and Amelia are great.

I prefer Judah to Jack. Jack is all nick name to me.

  • I prefer Amelia and Judah.

Both Madeline and Jack are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too trendy. Not sure where you live but where I'm at seems like every boy is named Jack or Jackson, and every girl is Maddie for Madeline.

  • I like both of your girl choices.
Do not like either of your boy choices.

  • All are good. My top picks would be Amelia and Jack
  • Riley and Caroline are so on opposite ends of the trendy vs. classic spectrum that I think you need something less classic than Amelia or Madeleine (this is how it's spelled BTW) to bridge the gap.

  • I like Madelyn with Riley and Caroline.

Despite popular opinion on this board, I like the Madelyn spelling even though it's not the original. To me it has become a legitimate variation (it's the most popular spelling in the U.S.). Everyone I've ever met named Madelyn spells it this way, both young and old.

Normally I'm pretty traditional on spelling but I make an exception when a variation becomes standard/accepted. Everyone has their levels of tolerance though and most people on this particular board will disagree!!

Yeah, no girl sorry I disagree with you there. It just doesn't look right. It looks "special".

Besides. Most popular spelling in the U.S? Yeah, the U.S is like, 20th in reading scores globally. "Most popular spelling in the U.S" might as well be "A kindergartner spelled it"

LOL. I do get your point.

I guess I have tolerance for this spelling because honestly it was the only one I knew growing up. I didn't even realize Madeline is pronounced the same way until a few years ago. I always pronounced it like Madeline in the movie (based on the children's books).

Maybe I just need to retrain my mind on this one..
  • Love Amelia & Jack... I would love Jude, but not a fan of Judah.

  • I'm a 'Madelyn', so I may be biased but I love that name :) Especially with your two girls' names already. I love the boys' names, as well.

Other girl names I like to go with your two already are: Fiona, Olivia, Elizabeth, Daphne, and Matilda.

I also like Jameson for a boy :)
