TTC after 35

Newbie Introduction

Hey everyone. I've lurked for awhile but have a hard time not being shy and introducing myself. I'm 35 (turning 36 tomorrow) and DH is 35. TTC #1 for 5 years, we have three spoiled fur babies. I have DOR, endo and had a uterine septum removed.

We've been through 4 failed IUIs, 2 CPs, 2 IVF freeze all retrievals, 1 IVF cancelled, we had 5 5d blasts PGS tested, two normal, both frozen. FET #1 was 2/4/15 and ended in a twin CP. Heartbroken.

I think I'm finally in a place where I need to know I'm not alone. Because this 'ish' is tough.

I go back for another HSG check in March then hopefully, if everything is okay, we do IVF #4. I live in the mid west but have chosen HRC Pasadena as our IVF clinic. So every visit and cycle also involves a lot of travel, thankfully my sister lives there. She is 40 and has two IVF babies from the Dr. I am currently seeing.

Hi Beingr. I'm so sorry for your losses.

My 36th bday is tomorrow too and we have two spoiled rescue pups. I thought my commute to my RE was a lot, you really have to travel though! Good luck, hope your stay on this board is short and sweet!

    TTC #1 for 21 Months
    Husband: 41
    Me: 36
    3 failed IUIs
    changed REs
    1 failed IVF (chemical pregnancy)
    13 5-day frozen embryos

  • @2pupsnokids‌ kindred spirit! love it. for my birthday I plan to work then hide under the covers all night eating pizza and watching HBO. I just plain don't feel like doing anything right now.

And yeah, my commute is crazy! But worth it. I live in the biggest city in Kansas yet I'm such a complicated case that doing IVF here would have just been too rough and frustrating and expensive.

Our stories sound pretty similar, and while I'm sorry you have to go through this it's comforting in a way knowing we aren't alone. Here's hoping you're stint here ends soon as well.
  • @beingr we initially went to our (somewhat) local RE bc the soonest appointment at Cornell had was 4 months away. We made an appointment with Cornell, and in the mean time went to our local RE. Our local RE actually had a doc who studied under the big city doc, but once we got to Cornell they looked at all our records, did some more tests and highly doubted IUIs would have worked in our particular situation. Pretty frustrating, but in the end, even though the first ET didn't work I guess we're glad we are with the big city doc.

I struggle on who to confide in with TTC, but this board has been pretty great. Everyone is really positive and seems to get it. Welcome and enjoy your birthday, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Peep Show always cheers us up (peep show is a BBC show and not in anyway related to porn). Good luck!

  • Welcome! This is a great place for support. Even so I hope your stay here is short. Good Luck!
  • Welcome! Glad you found a doctor that you like!

Happy Birthday @beingr‌ and @2pupsnokids‌ tomorrow!
  • Welcome and good luck!
