NJ Disability and family leave

Can anyone explain how this works? My 1st born was born in another state 6 years ago. Someone mentioned the NJ State coverage. I have an email into my HR rep but since my small co recently merged with a larger Kansas based company, I'm sure they will have to research this too.

I get 6 weeks paid by work and will use an additional 2 weeks vacation to get paid. Would love to get paid out the remaining 4 weeks if not longer. Any info would be helpful. I'm sure there is an old post in the board somewhere but I'm on my phone so searching is a pain!

From what I understand you are entitled to 12 weeks of NJ family leave/baby bonding. 6 weeks is paid, 6 weeks unpaid. Here's a link that lists more info:https://www.njtimetocare.com/our-agenda/family-leave-insurance

Yes. I was able to get 6 weeks of short term disability, and then seperately applied for nj family leave "bonding time". Figuring out my leave was the most stressful part of having a baby!
