Breastfeeding and Birth control

Hey are there any moms out there that will be breastfeeding while on BC?!! I'm going to breastfeed but I'm not sure about the birth control too. Have any moms done this together? If so can you tell me the kind of BC you used, and your experience with it?! Thank you in advance:)

I don't remember what it was called, but after my first baby I used a progesterone pill, which my doc said was ok while breastfeeding. Obviously you should ask your doc about your options. I didn't use it for very long though and eventually started FAM (like natural family planning).

You need to talk to you doctor about this but that is a certain birth control my doctor gave me while I was bbreastfeeding. I can't remember the name of it. I switched to something different as soon as I was done breastfeeding.

I breastfed my first for 17 months and took the Mini pill the whole time. You have to take it at the exact same time everyday or chances of getting pregnant increase. I had some side effects such as decreased sex drive and overall energy level which i thoguht was due to just having a baby but it got better once i stopped the pill. I plan on getting the paragard this time around so i dont have to worry about taking a pill everyday.

I did speak with my doctor today...just wanted suggestions of mothers that may have been on birth control while breastfeeding... Just wanted suggestions that's all.

After having my first I chose to go with mirena as my birth control since I am not a fan of the pill and the fact that you have to take it on a schedule. I just wanted something easy and effortless. I don't feel it really interfered with my breastfeeding since I weaned my son at just about 2yrs old as for the side effects I didn't experience really any besides spotting for the first 2-3 months but after that I really haven't had my period which has been awesome! After choosing to expand our family I had the mirena removed and I can say within 2 months I was preggers GL on deciding what would work best for you!

Mini pill- but this time around i am getting my tubes tied☺️. So I won't have to worry about taking a pill at the same time every day- not sure why that was so difficult for me.
