I've been doing it cold turkey. I give him his regular bottle of formula and when he takes his solids or snacks I give a sippy with milk and he likes it. But if you LO doesn't like the taste of it then yours is a good idea
I mixed them with my first. I'll probably do the same this time around.
I started sippy cups of formula around 9 months with DS1 but DS2'S won't attempt his formula in a sippy. He just screams until I hand him a bottle. :-/
I am undecided of what we will do yet. With DS we had to switch to formula at 10 months when I ran out of BM. Then as we weaned to whole milk we did mix starting with a 1:4 ratio then 2:4 etc until it was all whole milk as he wouldn't take whole to start with.
DD is still on BM and likely will until her first birthday. She is very picky about it in just the right bottle and it has to be very warm, almost hot. We are already encountering problems trying to get her to take a sippy cup and need to keep working with her and trying some different ones. I think I will try just offering her plain whole milk but if she wont take it, then try the mixing again. Hopefully I will have enough BM to do the mix if needed. I stopped pumping completely about 3 weeks ago but I still have a decent stash in my freezer that I hope will last,
This thread reminded me to finally call the Pediatrician and ask when she recommends WCM and peanut butter. PB is alright to try out now, but they are sticking with 1 year for WCM. Guess I will wait until then!

Canadian here, so we started whole milk at 9 months. She loves it, somedays more than formula. I just put it in a bottle or sippy cup and offer between or at meal times. I'm just not sure when to switch from formula to whole milk?
I'll try to just switch without mixing because that worked for my first, but I'll mix if she's having a hard time. I'm going to get rid of the bottle first, so she will get milk from cups
I'm nursing 95% of the day but I have been offering my 10 month old LO a 2-3 oz. bottle of whole milk and a 2-3 oz bottle of Mott for Tots daily. (not mixed, lol) The juice helps him avoid constipation and he has done great with the cow milk. I don't plan to mix breast milk and cows milk in a bottle, but I am very slowly transitioning from breast to cow, not cold turkey.
