Starting to think I'm crazy! Lol

My hubby and I have just started trying ... I had a period 1/20/15 and we started trying 2/2/15... My period is pretty much due at anytime and yesterday 2/16/15, I was spotting with right sided pain. Could have sworn I was having implantation pain and bleeding but then I woke today and have quite a bit of blood and it's darker and not pink/brown anymore and a couple clots. Now I'm thinking it's my period but I'm very very regular and this bleeding just feels a little different but everything I've read says implantation bleeding should be very light and not very painful and that's not how it is today . I've had all kinda of prego symptoms but now I'm starting to think it's just wishful thinking and focusing all my thoughts on my body. I'm just hoping other women out there have convinced themselves they are prego and then it didn't work out to be that way.. Starting to feel nuts lol. Can anyone sympathize ?! Thanks

How will you have the timing nailed down for next time? You know O can vary month to month, right?
Basal Body Temperature. It's the only way to confirm you ovulated (it can also be confirmed with ultrasounds, but that's not something you can do yourself).
