Switching to milk soon any tips

I have about a million questions for you ladies when you switched to milk.  Did you go gradually adding millk to the formula or just all the sudden no more formula?  How did that work for your baby?  and this might be a really stupid question but how did your babies do going from warm/room temp formula to cold milk?

If you could give me any tips/advice that would be great Thanks!

  • No advice, But I never thought about going from warm formula to cold milk..I don't know what Wesley is going to do when we get to that point. He will NOT take his bottle if it is not warm enough. Not even a room temp just made bottle...Has to be really warm..

  • DS was used to room temp formula... so we gradually added in some milk to each bottle - and would zap it in the microwave a little so it was not so cold.

After a few days we were at all milk- and would warm it just enough to be room temp - and slowly start warming it less and less (a few less seconds in the microwave each day)... after a week or so he was used to it cold.

  • DD was drinking 8oz of formula at a time, so we gradually switched.  6oz formula, 2oz milk for a few days.  4 oz formula, 4oz milk for a few days, etc, until she was at all milk.  It was all warm, though.  Then, we gradually transitioned from warm to cold.
  • We switched cold turkey one day. Milk tastes WAY better than formula. And we warmed it up still. It was a breeze transition! And you can get milk for 2.00 a gallon at Costco :)
  • i bf but with my daughter during the weaning process we gradually introduced soy milk...i'd read that it tasted more similar to what she was used to....we didn't do cow's milk until she was over 2.
