Decisions decisions....boys name :)

Hi everyone! Didn't think I'd need to post here, but finding myself finding it quite hard to pick a name now that we've found out we are having a boy. My husband just vetoed my long-time first choice (Evan James), so trying to settle on something. Would love your thoughts and opinions on:

Maxwell Hugh (nn Max, and Hugh is my grandfather - we found out it was a boy on the anniversary of his passing)

Harvey James (James is DH's grandfathers name)

Some more comments - we both don't totally love Maxwell as a full name, but don't think Max can stand on its own, and it pairs better with a middle name. I always loved Evan because it had a softness to it, and I find Max and Harvey a bit harsher sounding if that makes sense. But still cute, and I need to move on from Evan, haha! Curious to hear the impressions these names have on strangers Thanks all.

Harvey James is super cute and not one I hear a lot! Maxwell is nice but very popular. I think little Harvey would be precious!

I personally really like Maxwell. You could call him Max, but then he has the option to go by Maxwell in his "professional" life when he's older. We did that with our daughter. She is Abigail, but we all call her Abby, always. When she's older she can go by Abigail if she feels Abby is not appropriate. So, in our case, I'd go with Maxwell!

I prefer Evan over your other choices, too. What about Ethan? Between Max and Harvey, I'd vote Max.

I LOVE Evan James. I wanted to name or last little boy that but we also have a Gavin & i thought they sounded too close. We went with Elijah James (Eli) instead. I like Max. I think it can stand alone. Max Hugh sounds fine to me. I'm not crazy about Harvey.
