Multiples

emergancy room ultrasound... i think i'm in trouble

I have also posted this in my birth month club... i'm  trying to see if anyone else out there has any knowledge of this or has experienced something similar for themselves. my apologies if you have read this post on the other board...

quick background on me...

I have a full bicornuate uterus doubled right down to the cervix.

there is a history of multiples in my mothers family for several generations (all maternal links... so  girls from each generation descending from my great great grann).   after having vag and abdominal pain and what I thought might be evidence of a vaginal yeast infection (tmi I know) I went into our ER night clinic... they kept me over until early morning with iv antibiotics and had me come back last night for ultrasounds and consults with the specialist on call.

this is going to sound ridiculous and I am still trying to wrap my brain around this...... I have one 9 week old bean in the right hand side of the split, I have one 5.5 week old bean in the left (still showing with a sack but apparently developed more than the last ultrasound time a week and a half ago when it wasn't there at all) and they said there are two more eggs present that they are needing to monitor for developement.

this is crazy and i'm terrified. they said that the two twins being far apart in age by several weeks is extremely rare, but then given my condition, they feel it is very possible. at this point I don't know what to even pray for... multiples with my condition is never a good thing... but as a mom, how can you hope that only one survives the first trimester. has anyone experienced loosing only |ONE twin?? is it even possible?? is there anyone who had multiples with different due dates that were so far apart because they came from different cycle times??

some guidance please..

I would google this but im not even sure what to search for.  and its hard waiting for the dr office to call.  so for now i'm off to get more blood work done, visit with my parish priest, a newly scheduled aptmnt with family physician, and i'll be jumping every time my cell rings that it might be the specialist office ....given how much I am shaking right now its a good thing I don't drink coffee or tea too...
