Let's liven it up

I know there are a lot of BFPs yet to come, but this board seems pretty slow. I'm going to post a few threads and maybe we can get some great discussions going, and get to know one another.

FTMs -- How are you doing?  Anyone have specific questions about what is to come?

STMs+ -- How is this pregnancy different from previous ones?

Re: Let's liven it up

  • FTM here.  Doing ok. Still not feeling that pregnant - boobs are a little sore and I'm super grouchy, but otherwise I feel like myself.  Cautiously optimistic that this will stick.  We've been referring to the baby as "The Poppyseed" since The Bump tells us that's how big it is.

I don't really have a lot of questions at this point.  We have a lot of friends who've had children in the last few years and I've been taking lots of notes.  I'm actually pretty confident that I won't have a clue what I'm doing and that it will be fine.

  • Hi! I'm also a FTM and can't believe I'm actually here!  We tried for about 6 months but only had like 3 well-timed cycles. I'm doing well and the news is starting to set in.

I'm wondering if my OBGYN will want to see me in the office, or if she will likely just send me on to the OB right away since she doesn't deliver babies anymore.  What do you think?

  • I am a STM and I feel like this pregnancy is completely different than my first. I did not have any symptoms in the beginning with my son ( who is now 20 months ). With this one, I am STARVING all the time. I have already gained 5 pounds ( which I know can just be due to bloating ) and I am so tired. Hopefully these symptoms will go away soon! :)
  • STM - first pregnancy I was nauseus from about 5/6 weeks to 14 weeks and my boobs hurt the entire time. This pregnancy I have no morning sickness however I'm achy all over and I'm hungry all the time.

  • STM (Third time, actually) and this one is completely different than my first two.  I'm queasy/car-sick all day (which I have never had before), starving one minute and my food aversions make me ill the next, and am doing fairly well on my energy level.  I do have to say that the soreness in my boobs is probably about the only thing that makes my pregnancies the same.
The first two were boys, let's hope this one's a girl!

  • STM - my first pregnancy, I didn't start getting symptoms until about 6 weeks, being really tired, sore boobs, vomiting, food aversions, etc, and this time I'm only 4 weeks 3 days and I have serious nausea, constant food aversions, and am having bouts of insomnia.  I'm also really tired all the time already.

Lol ok we're like the same person.  FTM here as well and feeling cautiously happy/optimistic as well.  My husband and I have been calling it "Johnny Appleseed" since that's where I'm at this week.  Next week will be "sweet pea" LOL. too funny!

  • Third time mom here. I don't really remember having many symptoms with my first two but I am queasy with this one feeling icky throughout the day and it comes and goes. I also have insanely sore boobs and they are already bigger! My bra was soooo small yesterday it wasn't doing its job! I also can't sit back or lay on my back as it's very uncomfortable.
  • FTM -- Still bloated and constipated.  And a little tired.  I barely made it through spin class this morning and had to hop off halfway through and have a KIND bar.  But its Monday, which is my weekend, so I get to lounge and watch bad reality tv all day.

No questions yet, but I have been just reading a ton on the internet this last week.  I feel like I maybe learned more information that I needed to know - LOL!  I didn't need to know that I was going to poop on the table or that hemorrids are normal if you are constipated while pregnant. @-)

FTM here. Right now I'm feeling a little anxious because since about week 5, my symptoms have been pretty steady... nausea in the afternoons/evenings, super sore boobs. Right now i'm feeling... fine. It's a little disconcerting, and I don't see the doctor for an u/s for another 10 days.

Have other moms experienced this? I don't want to freak out if it's normal, but sometimes that's hard to do!
  • STM here.. with my first I was vomiting all the time starting 7 weeks. I'm still 6 weeks so I'm dreading it in a way.. I had a miscarriage right before I got pregnant with this bean, so I'm actually looking forward to have some symptoms to make it more "real". Other than that, I feel better because I know what's coming at the OB appointments, but I'm trying to refresh my memory (what I can/can't do etc..)

also, this time is different because I have a 2 year old to take care of, on top of working full time, so even though I'm exhausted, I can't come home from work and just hang out, cause the 2 year old needs to survive still :)

I'm giving up on the whole signature thing.

  • STM here. I don't remember feeling so sore last pregnancy. I decided I'd try to exercise last week and my hips have hurt ever since. I remember the gas and bloat last time but it seems so much worse this time.
  • STM here - I'm feeling pretty much the exact same symptoms as my first pregnancy.  Slight nausea on and off and extremely tired.  The only difference is my boobs are so sore to the touch this time!

  • FTM. Excited and nervous. Terrified, actually. We got pregnant on our first cycle and I'm 36. My sister miscarried on her first pregnancy, also on the first cycle. It happened after she heard the heart beat, so I probably won't feel more confident till we make it all the way through the first trimester.

EDD is 10/14. My dad's birthday is 10/20, would be an awesome gift for him.

  • STM- feeling okay other than nausea that comes on around 10am and lingers until after lunch - my first I had no symptoms at all!
  • @Sweetnsassy23 you didn't do the check-in!  You just created it. I want to hear more about your life

    :bz
  • STM: So far very similar symptom wise, or lack of symptom wise. I'll be happy if that continues. Mentally, it's weird, I really am not as into it yet. I'm sure that will change, it's so eary.

    @razzlemydazzle

You're right!  My symptoms have kicked in hard core and I'm seriously struggling.  The nausea is killing me slowly. Hoping to pick up some B6. I heard it works well. FX!

My first pregnancy was a breeze and my DS is such a great, laid back kid. So this has me nervous about this LO!

  • FTM: I'm just super tired, and my boobs hurt sooo bad. I'm not really sick to my stomach but I just don't want to eat either. At least I'm not pigging out. I want to stay healthy, and I heard that eating too much bad food now can make the baby an addict once their born!
Baby #1 on the way due 10-4-15!
Married to my honey since 6-11-11 <3

  • Third time mom - These one is light years different than my two boys, so let's hope this one is the girl. I never woke up from a dead sleep before to throw up..... twice. Or had insomnia at all really, let alone starting at 4 weeks. This pregnancy is already kicking my butt at we are only 6 weeks in. Yikes!
    Due 10/4/2015 with my third
  • Third time mom, my symptoms seem to be getting worse with each subsequent pregnancy.  With DS I only really remember having sore boobs, with DD I had a bit of nausea and food aversion.  With this one my boobs are hurting and I have felt pretty nauseous recently.

  • STM here. Things are pretty much the same. Not really hungry and exhausted. I'm nauseous but never actually get sick. The only difference is trying to keep up with my 2 year old and not pick him up as much (which is really hard!) I'm so looking forward to the 2nd trimester!

  • STM here! I have no symptoms so far except being extremely exhausted. I was so sick with my son but I'm actually looking forward to "feeling" pregnant again. I don't want HG this time but I won't complain when I'm nauseous!
