My doc did the Progenity test and I didn't even know about it.

I'm not worried about cost or anything like that. At my first appointment I was 10 weeks and had the usual bloodwork done. I got something in the mail that said that I had the Progenity test done and they submitted it to my insurance. I didn't even know they were going to do it. I called my doctor's office this morning to see if I could get the results and they said they would most likely call me back by the end of the day today. My question is has anyone else had this happen? Also, if you did, were you able to find out the gender when you got the test results? Thanks.
