My baby shower is next weekend. I have no idea what to wear. What are the appropriate guidelines of what to wear for the shower, and since it's winter? Any tips would be appreciated!
I think it depends on whether you are having a casual shower or not. Maybe ask the person throwing it for you? Just wear something nice but not formal?
Def no shorter skirts/dresses or low cut tops if you plan to open gifts. Usually it requires bending over which would lead to non ladylike sitting to accommodate the bump while bending.

Good call @dana1047 - the cleavage factor is a good thing to keep in mind.
I'll probably end up wearing one of my nicer pairs of maternity jeans with a cute top, and focus on accessories. My in-laws house is usually about 1000 degrees, so a sweater is out.
I wore a coral dress, but my baby shower was in June. If I were having another one in the winter I would probably still choose a dress, but I like to wear nice things on special occasions.
No short dresses! With my first I wore a just above the knee dress at my baby shower and when I was opening my gifts it was SO annoying having to pull down my dress 5000 times so I didn't flash anyone my vag. I ended up putting a blanket someone made for the baby across my lap. For this baby shower I will most likely be wearing a maxi dress with a jean jacket and cute necklace. Pants and I loathe each other right now...
I think it depends on what kind of shower you are having...something a little more formal or something casual. I had two showers, one nicer brunch, which I wore a very cute wrap dress to. Then I had a more casual shower and I wore jeans and a cute top. But definitely, wear clothes.
I wore a black and white dress to my shower and it was in jan. I had a back up outfit which was pants and a pretty top in case I felt fat in the dress the day of the shower. Since you are the guest of honor I wouldn't wear jeans but that's just me. I find nice sacks more comfortable then my jeans.
I had two showers. One in December when I was 20 weeks (visiting family for Christmas) where I wore dress pants, and a nice sweater. My other shower was in mid-March in California at 34 weeks, it was a co-ed/garden party, and I wore a maxi dress with a cardigan.
My shower is next weekend too and it's been ass cold here in Michigan! I'm going to wear a cute dress and a pair of leggings to mine, and I plan on taking a cardigan to wear or not depending on how hot I get.
I don't wear dresses, ever. My mother is lucky I wore a dress to my wedding. I'm having 2 showers; one at the bar and one at the local Moose Lodge (Ma's a member and she can rent the hall and not have to clean her house) so I'll be wearing jeans and a decent top. The end. But then, no one expects anything more for me because everyone knows I don't "do" girly stuff.
Wear something that you don't mind having a million pictures taken of you in, and something that is comfortable to sit in for a long time. I sat for a lot of my shower, and had to bend and reach for the gifts a bit, so I was pretty glad to be in comfortable pants.
You are pregnant I would say wear pajamas if you want.. however your guest may not approve.. Just be comfy. I was able to find a little black dress at the maternity store on sale and I wore that.
I would recommend wearing something you feel comfortable in and will be happy to have in lots of pictures. For my shower next month it is at a nicer restaurant. I plan to wear a dress I just ordered (as long as it fits when it gets here) with black tights and a cardigan. It's your style however; I love to wear dresses and get dressed up so that is something I am looking forward to. Hope your shower is fun!

For my shower in february i will be about 32 weeks and for my march shower i will be about 34 weeks. I bought a maternity dress on clearance to wear to the march one and for the february one a different dress. Our maternity pics are the morning of the feb one so i want to look nice.
I am wearing a dress with tights and not a low cut neck since I will be bending over and I don't need to flash everyone. I need a dress since I have a lot of v neck and wrap ones and it won't work.
@klingspwn I have a question for you.. How do you see when someone posted a reply on a post you put up? How can you tell the person didn't return? I have posted stuff but have to dig through pages and pages to find it to see if someone wrote something and I know there is an easier way lol! I will do the same to find your response

I'm hoping to wear a dress but who knows how I'll feel in another 7 weeks. By that time, I might be living in PJ pants.
