Re: Woman Gives Birth 1 Hour After Learning She's Pregnant

  • I feel like I've read several of these within the past year or two... it's crazy!

  • I just cannot fathom how a person doesn't know they are pregnant. Did you not miss your period? What did you think was moving inside your body? Or why out of the blue did you gain weight? Or start to look pregnant? Such craziness.
  • Have you seen any episodes of those I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant shows? They shock me every time! :-O
I was watching this the other night!  Some channel or other had a marathon.  After about 3 episodes I had to cut myself off-- what an emotional roller-coaster!  And I always thought it was BS, too, but listening to these women... well, I believe them.

  • Haha I didn't know I was pregnant with my second till 18 weeks when my husband pointed out my blump. I thought it was holiday weight. But two weeks later there was no denying kicks. I don't get going full term not knowing.
  • I didn't know I was pregnant until 16 weeks. I have never had regular periods and was told I couldn't have children. BUT....there's no denying it now. I look pregnant and I feel her crazy strong kicks all the time. I can certainly see not knowing the first part of the pregnancy But not the entire thing!
  • Have you seen any episodes of those I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant shows? They shock me every time! :-O

I watched a few episodes in a row after I became pregnant. That show made me so mad and bitter. I've been so sick and had horrible side effects. How do they have anything?!?!?! And as others have said, now with the kicks? Really?!

  • How? How in the hell do you not notice any kind of change in your body or symptoms? These stories blow my mind, every freaking time.

I'm sorry--you are just dumb if you don't realize it until a doctor has to tell you that you're crowning. I mean-c'mon--you never noticed a SINGLE thing was off?

  • I dont always buy these stories, if you have no signs what so ever I would say you are lucky. I know a few people who didn't find out until they were 4-5 months because of their irregular periods and what nots but my boobs hurt so bad in the beginning and now they are huge and look weird (ones bigger than the other). I just dont know...Wish the best for her.

  • I didn't know until I was 8 moths preg, it happens
  • Someone I went to HS with had a surprise baby on her driveway last year. The doctors told her she would never get pregnant without medical intervention and she never had regular periods. So pregnancy was never even a thought that crossed her mind.

I've seen pictures of her during that time and you really couldn't tell more than just maybe she put on a few pounds during the holidays.

  • I remember there was someone on this board early on whose sister didn't know until like a week before the baby was born. Also one of the guys at my work his daughter had it happen twice. The first time she found out that day supposedly and the second time she realized about a month before the baby was born. I just don't see it. I can see maybe 4 to6 months if you don't really show but not finding out the day the baby is born.

As someone who didn't know she was pregnant with her first until she passed out at work at 16 weeks , it's possible , I don't think I could not know for the whole term but I am lucky to get my period when I'm on the pill , the only way I get regular is to not take the pill and well, I don't like risks. My boobs got bigger last time but not significantly , because I was still a teenager I had no idea they were a symptom ! ( yeah I was naive too) I thought i had finally gotten tits ! ( I was always very small , an a cup in fact). I was also under weight and thought I was eating too many cheeseburgers when I put on a total 2 kilograms , ( I put on a total 10 kilograms the whole pregnancy)
Now I look back and think wow. This time round the boobs were more obvious because of my heavier weight, and because I realised I have no control over my period for the past 15 yrs I've used pregnancy tests every month my period doesn't appear out of paranoia and not wanting to get caught out again. This time I am also feeling more confident and less like a stupid teenager.
    So it's possible , but i don't believe the full term ..

Edited because 10 kilograms =22pounds and I want to add I had no morning sickness first oregnancy and this one I had just a little .
  • I get 16 or 18 weeks, especially if you have spotting around the same time as your period or have struggled with infertility (those are my favorite little miracles). I do call shenanigans on full term. I can't lay on my back without passing out, swampgina, midnight dance parties in the womb, RLP, stabby cervical pain, snissing, heartburn ... if I didn't know I was pregnant I'd be pretty sure my body had gone insane.
  • Oh and I also want to say my friend who knew she was pregnant did not feel her baby move once , apparently her tiny frame and her tiny baby didn't leave much room for babe to move ! She was constantly going to the hospital hoping to always hear a heart beat..
  • I have 2 friends that didn't find out until they were almost 6 months. 1 was on Depovara (shot) so never got her period. She went to the doctors cz she wasn't feeling good and the us tech said congrats you're having a girl. She had absolutely no idea.
My other friend didn't have her period which her Dr told her was just because of stress and every test she took came back negative. she finally went to a walk in and they did a blood test and told her she was pregnant. US said almost 6 mths along.
I didn't find out until I was 9 weeks. Since going off BC my cycles were very irregular. My Dr didn't want to find out what was causing the irregularity so she sent my to a fertility clinic. The first blood test came back negative, and after a couple BC pills to try and bring on a cycle, they did an us and found a baby.
I fully believe if you don't know, you don't show.
  • I know this ladies mom!!!! Haha not her but her mom and I saw a FB post about this before it became official in the media!! Holy crap lmao that's the hospital I'm having my baby at too, too funny!!!!! But yes I mean you have to be in a serious denial to have this happen to you every symptom you feel you must say oh that's just gas (baby kicks), etc and ect! Idk how I feel my 1.3 lb baby without a doubt so a 10 lber ?? Too funny I wasn't expecting to see this story on here :)

    Omg that's so funny!!!

I have watched that show about not knowing you were pregnant on TLC, and when I was actively trying to NOT get pregnant I thought it was the scariest show EVER! lol!  I just cannot fathom it.

  • I apologize for posting w/on any introduction. My original board is N13 but I'm also part of May15. I started browsing A15 to get updates on baby Max. They are both in my T's&P's :(
  • I am kinda confused why THIS particular story came into light when there's a show based on these kind of stories but none of them made the news. I also find it sooo hard to believe any of this crap especially because I am 26 weeks pregnant and I have like no belly button how do you NOT know you're pregnant....with a 10 lb baby I guarantee she had no belly button either!!!! And she wasn't big either so how did she explain that bump? I mean there's too many symptoms you just can't not know you're pregnant...but hey if she wants her 10 min of fame go for it but we all know she's lying!!!
  • A friend of mine found out she was having a baby the day she went into labor. She was heavier set so nobody could tell she looked pregnant. I don't understand how no symptoms occurred at all.

I had a gut feeling I was pregnant like 2-3 days after it happened, and we weren't trying at all.
  • My sister didn't realize she was pregnant until she was about 7 months, and that was with her third child.  She was heavier set and didn't gain (or lose) any weight.  She said she thought the movements were gas pains and her period was irregular because of birth control.  I'm not saying it's normal, or that it happens a lot, but I do think it happens.  On the TLC show, the common thread seemed to be that doctors told these women that they weren't pregnant.  One was told she had a miscarriage, the other got a negative pregnancy test.  I suspect that once a doc tells you you're not pregnant, your mind dismisses any ideas that symptoms are pregnancy-related.  Naive?  Sure!  Crazy?  Maybe not.

  • I just found out I'm 26 weeks pregnant. Last summer I missed my period for 2 months, took at least 6 pregnancy tests. 3 home tests, 2 in the doctors office, and one blood test. I still never got my period. I've been freaking out for months thinking something was seriously wrong. Admittedly, I dragged my feet. I was scared to hear I had a tumor or something. I finally had an ultrasound and they told me I'm 26 weeks pregnant. The best unexpected news EVER!

I didn't know I was pregnant with my twins until almost 4 months! No missed period not weight gain. Wasn't feeling well one day went the ER and they did a blood test and i was prego...then they did an US and I was having twins! OMG CRAZY

  • Isn't there a poster who had a sister that didn't know she was pregnant? Went to the hospital for bad cramps or something like that? I feel like I remember hearing about that sometime in the fall.
