I've had a few rough days this past week with MS & fatigue, combined with hosting my in-laws who are awful (to be understating). I'm feeling happier now, though. I've switched to appointments once every two weeks now and will soon be in a mad rush to do birth & lactation classes, hospital tour, finishing buying baby gear etc.
QOTW: I would like to get back to working out in preparation for birth. I was set back due to a bug plus the holidays.
I am 5 1/2 weeks, will be 6 weeks this Friday and will have my first ultrasound. Praying we'll get a heartbeat!
I am kinda gassy and was just googling it. I started eating tons once I was pregnant and over the last week it's been just way too much. I was so naseous yesterday but I think it was just being so full and body was saying NO MORE FOOD than morning sickness. We will see. Today I hardly ate before dinner and had great energy. Ate a kinda big dinner tho and now have been burping nonstop. Turns out it's due to higher levels of progesterone. Guess that is a good sign!
We are going in for our first ultrasound this Friday morning, it will be 6 weeks exactly. I am feeling good, strong, and very hopeful. We've told immediate family and some of my TTC friends... finally I am allowing myself to look at baby things after avoiding them since starting around 4 months of TTC got me kinda depressed about the whole thing. Now I'm all about it! I just bought 3 books online and they came today: Birthing From Within, Bringing up Bebe, and Nutrition for Babies & Pregnancy by Sally Fallon (not the exact title but good enough).
Started reading Birthing From Within and got inspired to start a journal. So I started it and started writing about the infertility part first, which got me thinking about how much the bump and this forum in particular was helpful, so here I am checking in!
I'm so grateful for all of you. Happy new year!
TTC#1 since Aug 2013, I'm 37, DH 41.
Maya Arvigo Abdominal massage (daily self care), plus TTC meditations.
I'm very sensitive to diet (gluten, avoid processed foods) and environment. Have a history of inflammation and tendinitis before going off gluten in 2009.
July 2014 - RE Visit #1: Eggs look good, Endometrioma on R ovary, HSG showed blocked R tube close to ovary. DH SA normal
DX: Endometriosis probably the IF cause and gunking up tubes. Since egg reserve is high, RE says I can wait a couple months and then get laproscopic surgery to remove endo & clear tube. If that doesn't help then move to IVF.
Dec 2014 - Saw new RE - does not recommend surgery on tube as it isn't likely to help. Doubts I have endometriosis. My endometrioma shrunk to neglible size (yay!)
Congratulations @Samuelismomma!!! She is so beautiful (and love the name!)
AFM: 36+4 today... it is getting close! Had my 36 week yesterday - TDaP and GBS - fun! Unfortunately she also did a quick check (cervical) to make sure the baby was head down. (Saw one of the other OBs in the practice - who may be on call when I deliver - holidays so lots of vacations). Usually they check by palpitating from the outside, but she did a check internally. This was bad since back at the beginning of my 3rd tri I learned I have a sensitive cervix that is prone to bleeding - hence stopped all travel (flying) which seemed to aggravate it. Well, I was warned I would bleed a little but this was a lot. (soaked a liner in 10-15 min, and then went through 2 pads rest of day) Worst was in the evening when I went to restroom there was a LARGE clot! I called the OB's office - they said since no other symptoms and baby was moving, not to worry. I did notice after that it changed to just some light spotting so I think that was the end of it. However I am going to see how long we can put off actual cervical checks if this is what happens to me!
Other than that massive fatigue is setting in and just a sore arm today from the shot yesterday.
QOTW: I don't really make NY resolutions - not sure why
Wishing everyone a wonderful New Year's - may 2015 be the year you all get your BFPs and babies!
Congrats, @Samuelismomma! Enjoy every moment with your sweet baby girl!
I am now at 7 weeks. I had my first dr's appt on Monday. I wasn't expecting a sonogram, but I got to see my baby and hear his/her little heartbeat. All looked good -- baby is in the uterus, heart is beating, size matches dates and there's just one. We were thrilled.
[Caution: loss mentioned below - not mine]
But then I got some very bad news. My best friend of almost 30 years who was just a few days ahead of me is miscarrying. She and her husband have had a rough enough year already, and this is such a huge disappointment. I think she's handling it very well, but I feel just terrible for them. And I was so excited that we'd be doing this together.
I am doing well. I have more energy, can eat healthier foods, and have enough energy for lots of exercise and playing with my 6 and 3 yr old!
Next Wednesday can't come soon enough-- that is my a/s! Ready to see if there is a little man or a princess in there.
Resolutions:
1) Get better organized: I never find anything I need, so I
think it’s time to become more OCD, and label things/have places for things.
2) Pay it forward: Every January, I do “Pay it Forward”
every day of the month. I want to make sure I do all days and not miss any, and
make someone else’s life happier.
3) Stay in touch with friends: I need to plan more girl’s
nights, actually call instead of text friends, more communication overall.
4) Lose baby weight: I want to be able to fit in my old
jeans by end of November. That gives me 6 months postpartum to reach this goal….ready
to hit it hard at the gym this year!
5) Save money: I am bad at this. I want to have a decent
nest egg by year’s end. I need to force myself to save from each paycheck, and
not overspend.
Congrat's @samuelismomma! and So happy for you and what's to come @Radiantly! I've had a good and bad week with the roller coaster of having a late AF and taking a total of 5 HPT's. We've also been on the last stretch of a 2 week vacation which has been mostly awesome!
New Years Resolution: Paleo, will work out 30 min a day/ EVERY DAY, goal to lose 30lbs this year, and to get PREGNANT!!

I'm breathing easier after getting normal results at the anatomy scan. The sonography tech was a wonderful, 30-something woman, who kept talking to us about what she was doing and even cracking jokes after she sensed I was quite nervous. It was much appreciated. Otherwise, I'm feeling well and slowly adjusting to the idea that I have this growing belly, that it's only going to get bigger and that there is no going back!
QOTW: I don't do NY resolutions, but I'd like to join a more collegial team at work; the atmosphere in my current team is pretty toxic and it's a big drain on my energy.
Update: I had my first ultrasound today at 6w0d and we are good! Single baby, in a good position, gestational sac and yolk sac but too early for a fetus and heartbeat. I'm either going back in 1 or 2 weeks waiting for a callback to clarify. Dr said 2 weeks but voicemail from nurse after with the bloodwork said 1 week. HCG went up nicely to 27,300. Progesterone was 24 on dec 23 now it's 17... Is that bad? I refuse to worry!!!!

@Radiantly that sounds like a whole bunch of awesome in your post. Keep your attitude about not worrying. Your Dr. Will let you know if there is something to worry about. But all your numbers sound great to me. Grow baby radiantly grow!!!!!
@Radiantly - super awesome! I had issues with progesterone in both pregnancies. My OB gave me progesterone vaginal suppositories for the first trimester. My new doc, after moving, said if I do get pregnant again that he's not supportive of using progesterone. Just trust the doc. IF they want you on supplementation, they'll do it. FYI - I want to say my numbers were in the single digits?? Good luck on the next U/S!!

It's been a few weeks since I checked in on this board so I almost felt like I shouldn't! But I still feel connected to it, since it's gotten me through the stressful TTC>35 journey twice now.
My household just got over a stomach virus that led to us canceling our holiday travel plans, so I didn't get to see my family that I only get to see once a year. Boo. I had it the worst - lasting a full 7 days without food staying down and I lost 6 lbs. In an odd coincidence I also had a bad stomach virus at exactly this point in my last pregnancy and I was traveling, and ended up being hospitalized for a couple days in Taiwan. It was scary and thank goodness this time was nothing like that! Aside from the nasty bug I've been feeling pretty good and our anatomy scan a couple weeks ago showed everything developing normally. I am feeling very fortunate and grateful for a healthy baby so far and I just hope it continues this way through delivery... and beyond!
QOTW: No real new years resolutions except to do my best to bake this little bun in the oven the best that I can.
Most of my NY resolutions revolve around getting organized and keeping my healthy habits. I have lost over 60 pounds in the last year and a half and want to continue to keep that weight off.
baby weight doesn't count...lol I will gladly gain weight for baby.
