DH picked mine out all by himself. When he proposed, he said he was so excited to see how I felt about it. I couldn't have picked anything I'd love more.
I'm left handed. It took me a couple tries to get a good picture. Lol. My ring is an antique from 1925. It has a worn art deco design. I like that it has some imperfections. I did not have an engagement ring due to our finances at the time.
This is my engagement ring and wedding band. DH went to a whole sale jeweler that sold his father his mother's engagement ring and then DH went and picked out mine. He knew I liked simple so he went with a six prong 1.1 CT center stone with .4 ct diamonds surrounding the band. The wedding band is the same as the engagement band. I love them so much! I never really described to him what I wanted so when he asked I just told him to keep it simple. DH's band is Cobalt. This is it:
Ring is absolutely gorgeous, @southernpeach89, but I wanted to ask you about your watch- is it a mens' watch or a sizable ladies'? I have two mens' watches that I love wearing so I was wondering if I found a sorta watch twin (everyone I know IRL wears dainty watches!)
@TheSleepingCat Aw thank you! That is actually a women's over sized watch from Michael Kors. I love men's watches though and I've never been a huge fan of the skinny banded watches. We can be watch twins!
Don't have a picture at the moment of my complete set, but here's a picture of my engagement ring:
It's from the Vera Wang collection at Zales. There's 2 hidden sapphires under the big diamond, and sapphire is my husbands birthstone, so it definitely has special meaning in that way
I have an average wrist but I love that mens' watches make it look petite. Also my style can be classified as steampunk-Indiana-Jones-gypsy and I haven't yet found a ladies' watch to fit that as well as mens' watches do.
ETA Hmm maybe there needs to be a watch thread soon. I pretty much love looking at all forms of jewelry/accessories and watches are a fave..

Can I join the big watch club? Mine is a big women's fossil that is getting replaced for Valentine's Day. It looks awful after 5 years. I'm having trouble finding something big and gaudy enough. I reaaaaallly want an echo drive, but hard to find the one I like in town to make sure it's big enough.
I have a larger frame so little watches just don't cut it.
I am also a fan of men's watches! I recently got an oversized women's rose gold watch to match my wedding rings! Watch thread FTW!

MW and I started out with titanium bands which were originally purchased as deployment ringsafter the rings we originally picked out weren't going to be available in time for our wedding. We took this as a sign and decided against purchasing them. For our one year wedding anniversary we upgraded, so I now have a flawless princess cut solitaire with a channel set wedding band also with flawless diamonds both set in platinum. MW is currently wearing a plain platinum band until the one we are having made becomes available which will also be platinum and with the same type and quality of diamonds set in my wedding band.
This is such a fun thread! I love hearing all the stories. @KasaundraR, your set is gorgeous!
DH designed my engagement ring with a custom jeweler, and we went back to her to do our wedding rings. She uses a process called lost wax to cast settings, and we think it's cool that they are unique.
No longer posting on The Bump due to the appalling misconduct of the staff and of its parent company, the XO Group. Four thousand active, engaged members do not represent "a few bad apples" and we are not trolls.
Here's mine: we didnt have any jewelry that was passed down from family. I wanted something that was different yet looked vintage. The center stone is 1ct. The bottom of both rings are scalloped. We had them connect my wedding band the the engagement ring. I love love love it!!

Please excuse my bony paleness... I picked my rings out myself. It was a second marriage for both of us, so we didn't do any big magical surprise engagement. My ring is a 2ct diamond in a basket setting. The base of the basket has a little band of pave diamonds around it. I wanted something low-profile because I'm a total klutz. The bands were maybe like $20 and are black tungsten carbide. I wanted my rings to match DH's band which is black with a middle stripe of silver (also tungsten).

I don't have any pics of my actual ring handy, but here's a screenshot of it from the store's website. H and I picked it out together. I tried on some fancier ones but the simple classic look suited me best.
Mine seems to not be to unique as I was able to find a picture of it online. The website said this was 2 cts, but mine is only one with a ring of smaller diamonds around it. My wedding band is exactly the same, but without the larger cut in the center!
I love this thread! Here's mine. DH asked my parents for permission and when he did my mom gave him her engagement ring. He had the stones reset into the absolute perfect setting. I love it more than anything. We had the wedding band custom designed and I think it's a perfect set :-)
Thanks for showing off all of your rings, ladies! They're all gawwwgeous!

We got engaged after 7 months of dating adter being set up on a blind date by mutual friends. My wedding band actually was a hinge ring that would let you interchange the center ring but I liked it and got my e engagement ring sottered into it.
