TTC After a Loss

Spotting/bleeding after SIS or endometrial biopsy?

Hey ladies. Question for those who have had a SIS and/or endometrial biopsy. I had mine at 8:45 on Friday morning. I'm still heavily spotting more than 48 hours later. Did this happen to any of you? The RE told me to expect some cramping/spotting on Friday but didn't say anything about it lasting through the weekend. I'm just wondering when it stops being normal and becomes something to worry about. I figure I'll call the office tomorrow if I'm still bleeding then but didn't know if I should be calling the on call doc now. TIA!

Re: Spotting/bleeding after SIS or endometrial biopsy?

  • I've had 2 SISs but never a endometrial biopsy and don't remember any spotting. I don't think it would hurt to put a call in to ease your mind. ((hugs))

  • Both of my SIS seemed to trigger my AF and I bled pretty good after the endometrial biopsy too. I asked my re about it and he told me while it isn't the norm it isn't unusual. I have a sensitive ute apparently and I bleed anytime the mess with it.

  • Hey lady! I don't remember any spotting after my endometrial biopsy this summer.  I hope it was not too uncomfortable and that you get results quickly.

  • Thanks ladies.  I'll give them a call.  I think it might be similar to your experience @Pickles4Prez, since he had to do two sweeps to get the biopsy since they did the SIS first and had trouble getting a sample afterwards.

  • I did not bleed after my SIS but spotting wouldn't surprise me- my Obgyn describes it as "clearing out all the cobwebs." If you had it done immediately after AF (as I did) I don't know it would necessarily be alarming to spot a bit, but I agree with PP's- no shame in calling just to make sure everything's a-ok!

SIS are usually always done right after AF because after O there can be the potential of a pregnancy. This is why we call CD1ish to schedule.
  • @PinkCamino‌ ^that makes sense! When I had mine I was still reeling from my loss and didn't ask much of the how or why when I needed to schedule - just wanted other kinds of answers.
