My husband thought it was odd that I wanted sushi so much. On the third weekend of eating out at sushi marui we picked up a pregnancy test. Sure enough he was right and I am pregnant know I am terrified that I might have hurt our little one.
@CharlieGuy I wouldn't worry - nothing you can change about it now and as @anamerriam said you didn't get sick so you're in the clear. Just avoid the raw fish/high mercury stuff from now on!
I talked to my OB yesterday and he said I can eat sushi as long as it's not Tuna or other high mercury fish and as long as it is fresh and smells/tastes okay. No prepackaged stuff. I'm not sure that I will, but he made me very happy.
He said there are all sorts of restrictions on food, but in actuality, most of it is better for you than some of the things that are allowed, like fast food.
Fish was a no-no during my first two pregnancies, except for sparingly, and I ended up anemic. I've been eating "lots" of shrimp lately (was without my dha/omega 3 supplement for a few days and craving fish). Imagine my relief to find that just this month the guidelines were updated. Yay! I've been wanting salmon and tuna and tilapia, too. I'm in luck. You too bon a petite https://americanpregnancy.org/pregnancy-health/mercury-levels-in-fish/
