Guide To Eating Fish During Pregnancy

A Local Guide to Eating Fish Safely for Pregnant Women, Nursing Mothers, and Young Children

Safe Seafood that can be consumed at any time (some of these fish may not be easily found except in Hawaii, but maybe?):\

-akule (big eyed scad)
-awa (milkfish)
-moi 
-mullet
-opelu (Pacific Mackeral Scad)
-salmon
-squid or calamari
-octopus
-scallops
-shrimp

The following fish can be eaten, but no more than ONCE per week:

-canned tuna
-cod (butterfish)
-grouper
-halibut
-mahimahi
-orange roughy
-pollock

Do NOT eat:

-Kajiki (pacific blue marlin)
-Shark
-Swordfish
