Morning hotties,
How was your week? What's coming up? How are you feeling?
We had a hard week. I spent the day in L&D at the hospital in which I work. My cervix has shortened and I have started Prometrium nightly, which is not my favourite. Last pregnancy, my OB put me on strict bedrest at 18 weeks for a cervix with a length of 2.3cm. The ultrasound I had on Wednesday revealed a cervix length of 2.35cm. The high risk team insisted they "don't believe" in bed rest, and prescribed Prometrium. I really want to do what's best, but I can't say I trust this new team I had never met before over my trusted OB. Bed rest worked for me last time and I went full term, and I even gained cervical length. I see my OB on Tuesday coming up, so I will talk everything over with him. I have a follow-up ultrasound on January 8th. I've been at home while my DD is in daycare, resting and worrying and crying. And watching Netflix.
GTKY: What do you like as far as body hair and facial hair on your man?
Re: High Risk Check-In 12/19
@knjzacher what is your cervix supposed to be at? If you mentioned it in previous posts I've forgotten.
Facial/body hair: I don't like facial hair on my husband. 1. It comes on patchy... 2. I have super sensitive skin so scruff ends up making me all red.
Body hair doesn't bother me and actually freaks me out when guys shave/wax everything. Unless you're a bear. My opinion would probably change. Seriously my parents neighbor... Looks like he's wearing a sweater.
I converted your glucose level over to mmol/l, and from what I can tell it is in a normal range. Maybe I did it wrong? Sorry your doc freaked out!
@clairhuxtable I'm 22 weeks 6 days today. I only lasted til 18 weeks last time before having to go on bedrest, so this is a win!
Sorry about the BH, happy they passed
@KonaiNeto thank you for your well wishes! Happy you had a good week!!
I love body hair. A lot. My husband has a big beard that he keeps trimmed and has delightful oils and balms that smell like trees and spices. He's a hairy guy. I like it, he's really manly.
@knjzacher good luck with the meds!
GTKY: I used to hate facial hair, now I miss my husband's full beard (neatly trimmed and close not full lumberjack beard). Body hair, I like. I like snuggling next to a soft, furry chest. Prefer the junk trimmed.
@knjzacher sorry about the L&D stay... Those are never fun! I would probably feel the same as you about the bed rest issue. I hope you and your OB agree on a plan for that because if it worked last time, who's to say it wouldn't benefit you this time?? I was on progesterone suppositories with infertility treatments for this LO and those suck..so I feel for ya!
@cwiceangel - how crazy for your neurologist to freak out like that. That's a really good number for just eating!! If that was a fasting number, that's a different story.
@clairhuxtable - getting crazy BH here too. I had a bunch of them Wednesday night and Thursday morning with any kind of activity I did. Work was so hard (running around rooming patients all day). We have to remember to not go so crazy when we feel really well!
@KonaiNeto - I'm so glad to hear it's been an uneventful week for you! I am starting to panic about the time left as well. Ahhh!
@Trollsniper - FX'd for good appointments next week! Sorry about the shots! I can't imagine how those feel. And YAY for uneventful. That's always great for us!
@DixieNormous330 - forgive me as I can't remember, what are you on Lovenox for? Sorry your levels aren't cooperating! I'm happy to hear about your LO!
-- Had my follow up ultrasound today. The cystic spot in LOs intestines looks smaller than last month but since it's still there, I go for another ultrasound in 3 weeks. The doctor was very rush-rush. He said "how far along are you?" And I told him and he goes "okay well see you in 3 weeks" and walked out of the room. All he said was "it's better" and it was more the ultrasound tech who told me that it's smaller and harder to measure so maybe it's shrinking etc... So the doctor left me hanging kind of...
Next ultrasound 1/9, next ob appt is 12/30.

@cwiceangel , I am a type 1 diabetic and your level is not off for having just eaten. Non-diabetics have a lot of fluctuations too, just not as wide a range as diabetics (I have done science experiments with willing coworkers!! One coworker had a very high number after having a caramel Starbucks drink - fasting sugars are the only clear numbers). Seems even pointless for him to have mentioned it. Don't stress at all.
@knjzacher ... Thanks for saying "hotties" and I think that you probably know yourself best so do what you can to give yourself an unofficial bed rest.
@KonaiNeto , sorry about the nightmares and the trauma that must have caused them - especially so young.
Babes and I are measuring the right size so I am happy so far with that. Insulin needs continue to grow - This past week my endocrinologist (have to email him every wk) did not seem to take my high sugars seriously so I adjusted the levels myself and they are back to good again. My A1C is 5.6% - up a bit higher than I would like, but still in normal range.
Searched out to see a counsellor... Having some issues with being overly anxious and I have not been sleeping well. I think 30 years with diabetes has finally taken a toll on me mentally especially with all the extra needs being pregnant. Luckily a counsellor is free here for people with chronic conditions.
GTKY: hubs is Asian and only gets slight facial hair. I love him, so must love that too. Although I think a beard and/or some scruff is good on some... Depends on the guy, I guess.
Wish all of you well.
I also forgot to add my GTKY! I prefer body hair. DH has a new job now where he doesn't have to shave his face anymore and he's excited, lol. Sometimes it's itchy when we kiss but it's trimmed and not out of control so it's nice
