I actually bought two onsies when we first started trying last February because I was a smoker and that was my motivation to quit! My hard work has finally paid off

Other than that I'm just grabbing baby/children's books that I loved when I see them.  This kid is going to have one hell of a library, and probably like two pairs of socks.

Several years ago my parents got rid of their storage unit and brought us a dozen huge plastic tubs full of my childhood stuff. DH has grumbled endlessly about moving the tubs (twice now) and insists we should go through them and start getting rid of things. He did it again last weekend while we were packing and I said fine, so we started opening up the tubs and going through them. By the time we got through the second tub full of kid's books, he was convinced we couldn't get rid of anything because the baby would need all of it eventually. He got so excited about all the books and reading them to our kid I got all weepy.

So high five for libraries.

I was a huge reader as a kid and my parents still have all of those childhood favorites in my old room back home. I figure at some point maybe after the baby is born I will go through and start picking out my childhood books I want to keep

Well, when I told DH I was pregnant I told him by giving him a sleeper which will be our baby's coming home outfit (it's neutral). I didn't plan on buying anything else for a while. But then we did some shopping at Kohl's on Black Friday and earned quite a bit of Kohl's cash. We were debating what to spend it on, and DH told me he thought we should buy our car seat through Kohl's with the Kohl's cash + there was a 20% off promotion going on. It wound up costing us like $40 including tax for our infant seat. It still makes me nervous sitting there, because we bought it so soon.

And then the other day I scooped up an awesome cloth diaper deal on a local swap board (4 Flip covers, 6 NB prefolds, 6 infant prefolds, and 3 Snappis for $25) because I couldn't resist such a great price.

I swear I'm done for now...

When we found out I was pregnant we were in Disney World/Universal on our honeymoon so we bought a gender neutral Harry Potter onesie there. Otherwise I'm waiting; I'm sure grandparents and friends will go into overload on clothes once they find out.

I don't think I could possibly express my jealousy over the HP onesie in just one post....
