TTC After a Loss

Hey Ladies... Intro time (living child mentioned)

Why is an intro so damn hard to type??? Its like typing out all the details makes it real...

Anyway... I had my 2nd miscarriage back in October.  It was super early, just a bit over 5 weeks, and my Dr said to wait two cycles to try again.  Well we cleared that hurdle today, as it is CD 1 for me.   I've lurked the past couple months, and have randomly commented here or there. I am looking forward to contributing more now that I have actually intro'd and we are really TTC again.

My first pregnancy back in 2010 ended up with a miscarriage as well, around 12 weeks, after we had seen a heartbeat.  One of the biggest things I keep going back to is that even though this most recent pregnancy was not as far along, and all we ever saw was a sac, it still hurts just as bad.  Just goes to show that the instant you get a positive test, your mindset, your way of thinking, and your heart changes forever.

After the first m/c, we did a cycle with Clomid and were able to get pregnant with my daughter who turned 3 in September.

Some other random info about me:
I am originally from a super small town with a population of 600.
I have approximately 40 first cousins.  My mom is 1 of 9 siblings and my dad is 1 of 11 siblings... Can you tell we're Catholic? ;)
My husband and I are HUGE St. Louis Cardinals fans.
I am a very organized person and love to make list!
I am very much a numbers person and work in excel all day long!

Thanks for listening!

  • I'm sorry for your recent loss but welcome here.

And I have to ask, how was it living in a town of only 600 people? That always amazes me!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

  • @Nikolie93 - growing up in a small town was pretty great actually!  Its a big farming community, super safe, good job opportunities 30-60 minute commute away.  My parents still live there and I doubt they even lock their doors at night!

The drawback is you are pretty sheltered and limited in the people you meet, but most people my age left to go to college, and then you get to experience new things and new people!

  • I'm sorry for your losses; welcome to the board.
I am also highly organized and a fan of lists - especially if they are color-coded.

  • Ditto @aswedishbee - color coded is the ONLY way ;)
  • @stacylynn721 doesn't sound like it's too bad! I just can't imagine knowing everyone in town or going on to college after living there. Must be so different!
I am not sure how to say this without getting a "solicitation" warning so I guess I just say that I am not longer active on THIS site.

I'm sorry for your losses (this one and the one you had back in 2010). Welcome to the board. I hope you find comfort and support here.

I suffered my first miscarriage in September (we were trying for our first) and I agree that as soon as you see that positive test, something in you changes. You have all of these expectations, hopes and dreams, and it sucks when it's over.
