I'm thinking about getting a doula for delivery support - any recommendations or suggestions for how I can find one? I'm probably not a typical doula user - I definitely want an epidural
The Georgia birth network was really helpful (albeit a little overwhelming) in finding a doula for my first L&D. This link is to the Atlanta directory in case you want to checkout any other services, but the Labor Doulas are the 5th link down. I used Paige White and had a great experience.
I've read really good things about The Happiest Doulas - they were also recommended to me by my acupuncturist. Here's a link to their website: https://www.happiestdoulas.com/
I intend on engaging them for Postpartum support, but from what I understand their delivery support is fantastic.
I hired Valerie Reed after a recommendation from a friend. She was so knowledgeable and kind. I clicked with her right away. I'm like you also. I'm not against an epidural at all. Check her out. Here's the link to her website.
Also consider attending the meetups for the collectives with Emerge Birth Services and Lumina Birth where you can meet several at once and see if you're drawn to any of them.
