My DH gets candied pecans from someone at work every year for Christmas! They are coming home today! The whole container will most likely be finished by tomorrow!
@Beeorange tell me about this thing called "breakfast casserole". I'm intrigued.
Well really you can throw anything in there... but the one I had was eggs, cheese, ground beef, smoked sausage, onions, and peppers. It was so delicious (and I don't even like eggs).
The one I make is hashbrowns on the bottom and I sprinkle crumbled sausage and cheese on top and scramble eggs with milk and pour on top of everything before I bake it. I never add onions or peppers because I don't like them.
I've also made it before using polenta instead of hashbrowns on the bottom to be different.
I have my first group prenatal visit TONIGHT, and my holiday party Wednesday and my anatomy ultra sound Thursday, so I am great! Lots to look forward to!
Weekend food at my house is the best food! I made another turkey this Friday night because I was amazed at how easy it was on Thanksgiving and I loved how far the leftovers went. We had it with a noodle kugel (it's like a sweet non-dairy casserole), homemade chicken soup, cranberry applesauce (like cranberry sauce made with sweet wine, cinnamon, nutmeg, and apples), homemade challah bread, and a pumpkin pie from scratch. Saturday lunch was leftovers with salad--I usually do more but this week I got lazy.
@tinalovescauliflower This weekend was my SOs family Christmas... which meant delicious homemade Amish food. I had cinnamon rolls, breakfast casserole, sausage gravy and biscuits, and apple cheesecake.
I am going for an Amish dinner tonight! I have to skip the roll and pie but cannot wait for the rest of it! So good!
@robotpcr - Speaking of eating, that salmon cake recipe I linked to last week turned out awesome! Highly recommend, and definitely don't skip the yogurt sauce - add a little garlic to it.

Best thing I ate all weekend was A dark quarter dinner from swiss chalet... One of Canada's treasures .
Oh and way too many Krispy Kremes. That coupon made me very happy. Also, the fact that DH works fifteen mins from one of the only locations in the province was our Christmas miracle.

Friday was my company holiday party. My co-worker was, for some unknown reason, ashamed of the ambrosia salad she contributed. When I told her I loved it, she insisted I take the left-overs home with me (more than half the bowl). So I spent the weekend consuming ambrosia salad for every meal.

I'm trying to enjoy all the delicious food here in Texas while I still can bc I know one we move I'll miss it! I just don't think Virginia does Mexican food the same way Texas does especially here in San Antonio. I had fajitas this weekend, so delicious!!
Speaking of breakfast, is it a problem that I've been happily eating breakfast food for more than one meal a day lately?
Me too!! Great minds.
Then last night SIL made these AMAZING cookies just as an experiment: oatmeal with brown sugar, pecans, coconut, and white AND semisweet chocolate chips. I stopped counting how many I was eating.

It's a little embarrassing how many times in the past week or two I've asked my fiancé to make me pancakes for dinner.
@pinkbarebear we went to pappasitos! The rest of their food is kinda tex mex but man their fajitas are OMG! Plus they have homemade tortillas just so much yum!
Re: mommy to be's :)
So, anyone have any good food this weekend?

I know my aunt is sending me a box of American Spoon jams as my Christmas present. They're not homemade but they rock. I love jam.
Isn't there a Friends episode where Joey freaks out about jam? That's me.
