Help- I think I forced my milk out! (TMI/Embarrassing personal info warning)

You have been warned. Before you read this know that I am embarrassed writing it, but I do need the feedback of internet strangers to know if this is "normal". I can't spare you the details since they are important to the story so here it goes: last night DH and I were "getting it on" (yes that's code for sex). Idk why but I've always been one to get turned on trough nipple stimulation. So anyways that's going on and getting pretty rough, and suddenly DH pauses and says, "you're lactating", as in some milk came out! I was mortified in this moment. Don't get me wrong I feel completely comfortable with my husband, but for some reason I was embarrassed! It totally threw me off but I was able to maintain focus long enough to finish the deed. DH stepped out to the bathroom right after and my emotions took over and I started crying! I tried to wipe all tears away before he came back, but he's no dummy and knew i had been crying. He asks what's wrong and I just explain I was embarrassed. He handled it super awesome and just told me he's my husband and he's not weirded out at all he thinks it's amazing my body is changing to do amazing things and a lot of other perfect stuff. Anyways, my question from this huge ordeal is, is this normal or was my milk actually forced out because of rough action (there was squeezing going on)? And if so, is that ok? Is everything going to be normal? Will I start leaking frequently? Any feedback for my awkward situation would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

Re: Help- I think I forced my milk out! (TMI/Embarrassing personal info warning)

  • Totally normal.  It happens earlier for some than others.  I never had anything come out until after DD was born but some women experience it much sooner.  You're going to be ok, you aren't ruined.  ;)

  • @galnoir‌ that article was super helpful, thank you!

And thanks everyone else for the feedback and making me feel normal. It's good to know this will most likely happen again so I can be prepared.

Definitely normal, nothing to freak out about. Perhaps a little less nipple stimulation during sexy time, so this doesn't happen again.

Also, this could be a good way to stir up some contractions down the road if you go past your due date. Nipple stimulation is great for contractions.

  • Normal, as others have said. But just an FYI, be careful with very heavy nipple simulation as you get further into third tri. It is one of the things that can bring on contractions.

  • I appreciate everyone's comments. I even had DH scroll through them just so he could hear it is normal and prepare for the future. He said he has no complaints about it, lol. Glad we can go about it much more smoothly next time.
  • He milked you!

All silliness aside. Try not to be too freaked out. It's cool that your body is preparing already to breast feed your LO! I didn't have any lactation going on till after DS was born.

DH has told me numerous time that he can't wait for me to leak on him again. He's so weird. I'd rather control the leakage on someone (ahem baby) who is actually going to use it lol.
  • I can definitely see nipple stimulation causing contractions, but according to what my doctor told me, it shouldn't send you into labor unless your body is already starting it anyway.

This is correct. Almost nothing will work to send you into labor if your body isn't preparing for it. Contractions aren't a bad thing (think of them like Braxton Hicks, they're just practice).
  • Just wait until you have real milk let down. I could practically hit dh in the eye from across the room!
  • My boobs are new to this so I have no advice...but major props to your husband for the awesome support.  Mine would have laughed.

I was going to say the same thing. Also there is nothing gross about breastmilk. It isn't embarassing, it's appropriate. No worries.

    How's the vag

Is your life seriously that pathetic that you feel the need to attempt to upset a group of pregnant women? I mean, come on... how sad is that!? You must be SUPER popular in real life.

  • Ugh you shouldn't try feeding the troll. You suck at it.
  • I am being sincere when I ask you... what pleasure do you get from this? I don't understand what would draw someone to intentionally act like a total raging asshole for no reason to a complete group of strangers. Please, enlighten me.

    It's our pet troll!

At this point, I think it takes longer for it to make a new account than it does for the account to be banned, with how obvious its trolling is

  • @mrsalvidrez‌ - high five to your hubs. I think/hope mine would react similar. But secretly I kinda want to catch him off guard, maybe even get a mouth full, with his new increased love of my giant boobies.... So he can experience some of the fun body changes right along with me! haha
