Christmas return - toy

The ILs bought DH the playskool swing and score baseball toy.  He got this toy for his first birthday (yeah they totally undershot on that one age wise).  Anyway, I didn't want to hurt their feelings and say he already has it - yes it would hurt their delicate feelings - so since I don't have a receipt and I don't know where it came from should I just try to return it at any old walmart or target?

Target won't take it without a reciept, but Wal-mart will.

Yes, try Wal-Mart or Kohls--I have seen them there.

I'd try walmart.  Target has a crappy return policy.
