Going for my 17 week appointment today. I feel like I'm missing out on some things, so I just wondered is there any questions that I need to ask at my 17 week appt.
I'm not sure...I guess I'm nervous that I'm missing out on information, bc the appts are usually short and they don't say much unless I ask. I'm going for a reg appt today and bloodwork, I just want to make sure I'm keeping up on things.
I have read, I was simply asking a question. I don't understand why you all get an attitude with someone for asking a question. If you don't like the question, don't answer it or at least in respectable way. I didn't come at anyone with a attitude simply just asking a question.

If you think that someone GENUINELY suggesting that you read a pregnancy book because they list some questions for appointments is having an attitude or being disrespectful this is not the site for you.

TTC #1: 4/1/14
BFP: 9/16/14 (A damn good 1 year anniversary present)
I will be 17 weeks on Saturday but I don't have another appt until the 29th. When I think of something I write it in my phone so I have a list to ask. So far I have this:
Headaches during pregnancy. Any specific causes or ways to decrease them?
What side to lay on while sleeping? I'm not really big yet but I seem to not be able to get comfortable. I want to see what the doctor says about this and her views on only left side sleeping or if it really matters.
Working and weight limits? I work one on one with people with intellectual disabilities. I do a lot of assisting with lifts and bending to help the individuals with a variety of things. I've noticed I start to have some cramps when bending a lot and doing a lot of activities. As the pregnancy progresses I'm not sure how much weight I should lift or if I should be bending if it's causing cramps. Sometimes my job can be very physical and if I get put on weight restrictions I'll need a doctors note.
I've done my own research on these but always good to talk to the doctor about it as well!
It's a good idea to pick up a book. I haven't yet, but the ladies here have a lot of suggestions to which ones are the best so I think I will try to do that this weekend to get more knowledge!
Good luck at your doctors appt! Hope you feel more prepared about your pregnancy after speaking with your doctor. If you're not interested in a book you can look online and there should be plenty of search links that will list questions.
Thanks @shoff2. That's exactly what I did, I had been kinda making a diary of stuff so I just went over to make sure I had covered what I needed too. Thanks for not being soo sarcastic as the rest of the ladies. I have been doing a little reading and wanted to see were there any specifics I need to cover at my appt. I've also heard of pregnancy videos that's are good, like from the geography channel, but I haven't been able to find them.
Aside from speaking to your physician about your "diary of stuff", Maybe you should inform them that you are feeling a little rushed in your appointments, and ask if there are any reading materials they can suggest/provide. Sometimes simply letting them know you don't feel like you're getting a lot out of your appointments can lead to better and more informative visits. I also echo the sentiments of PP's when they suggest reading pregnancy books. Everyone has a different pregnancy path. Through reading you will come up with questions more specific to your own needs.
