Infertility

So sick of this *vent* ****loss mentioned****

Ugh! I have been on the ART train for two years now between all the medicated cycles, IUIs, IVF and FETs and I just feel like I don't even know my own body anymore! Especially since my MMC at the end of July, I just don't feel like I know what to expect anymore. My cycles used to be regular, predictable within a few days. I used to know what to expect on the Pill down to the exact day AF would start. Now... Who the hell knows. My body has been used, abused and tricked by medications to behave certain ways on certain schedules, and it seems like it is starting to rebel. The first time my RE had me skip placebo BCPs to line up my cycle for the IVF schedule, no problems. The last time, I spotted for nearly 2 weeks in the middle starting the end of the third week of active pills, about the time I would have expected AF if I had taken the placebo week. And this time?? I just finished week 2 of active pills, it is not time for AF yet even if I was not on BCPs... And today I am having full on AF style bleeding. WTF is up with that?? I know bleeding through on the Pill can be normal... But it was never normal for me before. I just feel like my body is going haywire with all the playing with my hormone levels. I almost wish I could take 6 months off to give my body a rest... But for a variety of practical reasons, if we are going to do another fresh cycle, January is the time to do it, as long as the RE is not concerned (and she's not), but.... Aaaaaaarrrrrrggggghhhhhh!!! Thanks for letting me vent.

Yes a miscarriage can really throw your cycles off. Sometimes for a few weeks and sometimes for a really long time. And yes the meds really mess with you too. I'm hoping my cycles go back to 'normal' after my cancelled FET cycle. We'll see!

    ((hugs))

I know... *sigh* That's why in a perfect world I'd love to take time off to let my body be screwed up and re-regulate without using drugs to try to force it to do things... but, alas... Not getting any younger. My RE doesn't think it is a problem, so we forge ahead. I just feel a little like I'm on a runaway train sometimes. I hope your cycle starts cooperating for you soon, too! :

  • ((((Hugs))))) spring! I can relate to your frustrations. My cycles are weird now that I'm finally off of the roller coaster (few month break). My last cycle was like 40 days or close to it I think.

Someone who went through IVF once told me after my first loss..... "IVF is almost bearable when it does work, and completely shitty when it doesn't". Her point was IF sucks all the way around. Her words help me keep things in perspective when I'm down over the whole thing.
