MRI Today [Final update in OP]

UPDATE 2 (final): The MRI showed that everything was completely normal. No septum. Which is good news, since it means I don't have to have surgery. But the frustrating news is that we still have no answers. We met with our RE this morning. I was expecting him to push us toward IVF with PGD, but he didn't. He said that he's not sure it would solve our problem and it seems a costly and physically taxing process to go through if we're not sure it will prevent another loss. We discussed the Cytogenetics report and he said that we shouldn't rely too heavily on the results, since a 46XX finding can be attributed to maternal DNA (like our brilliant @ktlovess explained). DH and I opted not to push for additional testing on the fetal tissue because of the cost and emotional strain. 

So that's where we're at. Our RE showed us statistics about how, at age 35 with 4 prior losses, we still have a 68% chance of a successful pregnancy even without treatment. We discussed meds and IUI, but my RE was not confident that the risks outweigh the benefits in my case. (He's especially concerned about multiples for me). My RE also encouraged me to start seeing the psychologist at the clinic, who specializes in loss and IF. I was planning to do that anyway, so I'll call to make an appointment. 

DH and I had a good talk on our way home from the appointment. He said he is up for trying for one more pregnancy on our own. If we have another loss, he wants to start looking into adoption because he doesn't want to live in this holding pattern forever. And I think that's fair. So... we'll see. I'm just trying to take things one step at a time. Thank you so much to all the wonderful ladies who have reached out with support in this hard time. You are my sanity. 

UPDATE 1: OK, so I had the MRI. I'm still waiting for the radiologist to dictate the report and send it over to my RE. So I don't know what it says. But I do have some other information. The nurse from my RE's office just called to tell me that the cytogenetics report is in from the lab where the tissue from my last m/c was sent (I collected it myself, since it passed naturally.) The result was 46XX. So it appears to have been a chromosomally normal girl.But the report also says something about cells of maternal origin not being able to be ruled out and that we can order some second line of more sensitive testing on the cells if we want.

@ktlovess? Any wisdom?

I have my MRI this afternoon to figure out whether or not I have a uterine septum or any other sort of abnormality. I go between wanting them to find something wrong so I have an explanation for my losses and it can be fixed, to hoping all looks A-OK so we can move on to the next steps in our TTC journey.

I was feeling OK about it but then started feeling really anxious last night and this morning. I picked a fight with my DH on the way to work. Just feeling really emotional. Blah.

Anyway, I will update when I have more info. Wish me luck!

    I know how you feel about wanting them to find something to explain things yet wanting them to find nothing. So hard *hugs*

    @ktlovess Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.  And don't worry, you did not upset me! I was already upset, but your explanation made me understand better. I will get a copy of the actual report tomorrow, so perhaps that will say what type of cells they were.

    Oh @BookishMomma I'm so sorry your heart is hurting again. :( I'm terrified of getting my Cytogenetics report, but hoping it provides answers. HUGE ((hugs)) I hope all is OK with your MRI. Sending T&P's your way! 

    @ktlovess that you SO much for posting the explanation. My RE & nurse both "explained" why the tests aren't always conclusive but your answer was actually understandable!
