Spit up

Is anyone's baby still spitting up frequently? (A few times a day) My first never spit up so this is new to me but I feel like at 8 months old she should have that sphincter under control. When should I be concerned about something more?

Re: Spit up

  • Mine spits up all the time and everywhere. He spits up, crawls, spits up more. It's so annoying. My house is covered in puke every night. However the Dr keeps assuring me that everything is fine because he's still gaining weight great.

Yes though it's definitely better than before. My pedi says as long as she's gaining weight and not bothered by it not to worry.

This. Not as often as before but he definitely still spits up. I think solids have helped. They should stop by their first bday.

There are sphincters inside the stomach to let food in/out. It's a circular type of muscle that allows passage of matter around/in/out of the body.
  • My LO spits up all the time. He will go a few days where he barely spits up, and then a few days where he and I are constantly wearing it. But weight gain is not a concern, so I'm not worried!
  • How many teeth does LO have? My son never spit up until he was teething. "They" say the increase of drool can increase the spit ups. Just a thought.

  • He does it if he crawls too soon after eating or if we happen to press a certain area of him stomach while holding him. It's much less than it was, but I'm ready for it to end.

Haha you have a few sphincter. One is in fact in your butt lol

She has 2 bottom teeth and a top one on the way but the spit up has been pretty consistent. I'm so sick of smelling like puke. Her lovey actually makes me gag. Needs to be washed hourly.

Hahaha I'm an idiot. I thought sphincter was like an official term for one specific thing, not like a general term for multiples of the same thing... like lymph nodes.

  • Ryvers reflux is just as bad as ever. I think it's permanent.
  • yeah, Logan still is.  I have a really good friend whose son spit up like Logan until he was 18 months old.  I have to say I've gotten used to it, and it will be really weird if none of my other babies do this.

However I am tired of EVERYONE outside the home constantly alerting me to it.  I'm so used to projectile and puddles that having a TINY amount by his mouth or coming out of his binky doesn't face me, but apparently it fazes the rest of the world, and all of costco ;)
