FTM question- do flutters transition into "gurgles"?

I've looked on Google but can't find much. I've had flutters since end of 16w up until 18w. In the last few days I really don't have flutters. The only thing I notice sometimes are what I can only describe as, what would otherwise feel like in non pregnancy, as digestion gurgles. Since I'm a FTM I am curious about what point the flutters go away. I really haven't felt definitive kicks yet as far as I know.

  • I don't know if this is relevant at all but I don't care.

You know when you hold a fart for awhile and when the feeling finally goes away, it kinda moves your whole stomach with the pressure moving elsewhere? But since you didn't fart, your stomach tightens and you go through the whole process again? This is harder to explain than I thought. But that's what my little man moving feels like. Yep, he feels like a fart. ;)

Ha. I hope someone in the world can understand this perfect analogy.

Keep in mind I'm 21 weeks now. I barely just started feeling movement.

    Perfect description!!!!

Yes and 18 weeks is still early to have those no doubt there is a baby kicking In there feelings. Even with my 2nd I may have felt him sooner but only because I knew what it was, it still was a while before it was no doubt a baby up in there kicking me.
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • Ha! @AlwaysLastZZ I know what you mean. It's the weirdest feeling and at first I was sure I was hungry and just not feeling hungry so I went and ate. But it happened the next day and the day after that and it's just got me wondering tonight.

  • If the gurgles are more in your stomach/throat that's acid reflux. Obviously I don't think anyone thinks they're feeling the baby in their throat, but I just had to comment because I get awful throat gurgles when I am pregnant and it drives me insane. It's like a little dinosaur in there. RAWR.

  • I've never had anything like gurgling. That sounds GI, to me. Early flutters turn into bigger thumps. Rolls feel like moving pressure, and once they have reached a good size, you can tell what they are doing and what they are moving.

  • What I don't get is how can you tell the difference between baby movements and gas though?
  • To me it feels like someone is running their fingernails against my skin. I'm 15 weeks and have started having really bad back pain so I'll lay all scrunched up with my knees by chest. If I lay still like that for awhile I can feel my little boy move. I didn't realize that's what it was until I described the tickling feeling to my mother. I have a tilted uterus so I'm experiencing things a bit faster than others it seems. My stomach started poking out at only ten weeks because of the direction my uterus lays.

  • I'm 19 weeks today and kind of felt like I may have felt the baby last night but I wasn't sure. It was while I was sitting at my desk at work and felt like a rolling/moving/sliding feeling across my lower abdomen like right before my hips but in the middle. It was right in the area where we always find the heartbeat with the doppler so I'm hoping it was some of the first movements :)
