Bf question ....TIA

Quick one.... How much BM should LO be getting now? She is 7.5 months and eating a lot of solids. She gets about 10oz BM daily (at 9am and 3pm) from expressed and then I nurse in evening and sometimes morning. For solids, she eats snacks (mango, avocado, banana and plain yogurt) at 7am and 10:30am. And brown rice/ sweet potato, carrots, peppers/broccoli, fish/chicken at 1pm and 5:30(lunch and dinner). Is she getting enough BM? My supply has substantially reduced so not sure if I should think about supplementing with formula.
Guess it's not a "quick" one but thanks for reading.

  • Liam nurses MOTN (3am ish) morning (6am) 3 bottles at day care (12 oz total) evening nurse (5ish) and bedtime (7). So, when it's the weekend he usually nurses 7 times in 24 hours.

He eats dinner with us and has fruit (breakfast) and a vegetable (lunch) at day care.

  • LO takes 16-20oz via bottle and nurses 3x on daycare days. At the ILs its 12-16oz via bottle, still nurses 3x. Weekends I don't even try to track, just nurse when she wants to.

  • I nurse 7 times on the weekend plus he gets 3 meals and a snack.
Week days it's 3 bottles, 4 nursing sessions and the same number of solids

This is us exactly. You can also try BM in a sippy cup with meals if that will help. I definitely recommend adding a pumping session though or another nursing session if you can if your supply is lessening. 25-30oz of BM is recommended until age 1.

  • BM or formula should be the main source of nutrition for the first year and solids are meant to be "introduced" and given in addition to the milk, but should not be replacing it yet.

I nurse on demand which means anywhere between 6-8 sessions in a 24 hour span, but not sure how many ounces that is since I don't pump.
  • On days that I work DD nurses first thing in the AM, then takes about 10 oz in bottles while I am at work. She nurses two more times before bed and usually at least twice in the MOTN.

She is not all that consistent with solids yet but usually gets them twice a day.

  • Thanks all. My supply has really tanked so I started her on formula. She took about 4oz yesterday and another today so we 'll be supplementing BM with formula and also solids. Many many thanks
