Good morning baby/sleep?

What time does your baby wake up for the day?

Mine was going down around 7:30pm and then waking up at 3am to nurse for an hour.  She would then wake up around 7:30/8.  I just figured out yesterday that they don't need to nurse at night anymore because they are older and shouldn't be getting hungry.

So last night.. she slept from 7:30pm-4:50am.  I left her in her crib until 6:00am and then she fell asleep.  I'm wonder if 4:50 is considered to be when she is UP for the day.  Should I be getting her or letting her wait there to fall back asleep?

What time do your little ones 1. go to bed? 2. wake up in the morning?

Re: Good morning baby/sleep?

  • Loading the player...
  • Bed around 7, up to nurse between 1 and 4, then up for the day between 6&7. Nursing only takes 20 minutes; and MOTN feedings are still common at this age.
  • Bed around 7:30 and up around 6:00. She gets up 2-3 times a night to nurse. But she also gets up 2-3 times in the beginning of the night until I take her to sleep in our guest bed together. She's not a great sleeper or napper.
  • Bedtime is 8-8:30 and up for the day around 9. But she wakes up every 3 hours to eat, every 2 hours since she's been teething. (:|

  • Bedtime at 6:30, up at 6. He went through some sleep regression over our vacation and now wakes up about 47 times overnight. Just like pp, overnight he will cry, but when he's up for the day, he's usually cooing and talking to himself.

  • Bed around 7:30, up 2-3 times to nurse, up between 5-6:15...if it's 5, I bring her into bed with us and nurse until she sleeps a bit more otherwise if it's close enough to 6, we get up!
I just find 5 way too early.
  • Bed at 7pm, up around 7am, and generally wakes 3+ times a night. Someday we'll get through this sleep training. Every time we make progress, something happens (teeth, cold, travel) and we get kicked back to waking up every 2 hours.

  • If she was happy in bed I would leave her and only get her up if she cries.

Our normal night is bed at 7:30, feed around 11 and 3 and up for the day around 7:30. I'd kill for only 1 motn feed. Many of our nights are much worse than this.

@kmdendy‌ "I just figured out yesterday that they don't need to nurse at night anymore because they are older and shouldn't be getting hungry." By the way, there are different schools of thought on this, but I just don't buy it. I'm 31 and still sometimes wake up hungry. Or thirsty. Or just to snuggle in closer to hubby.
    This.
It is very common for nursing babies to wake once a night the entire time they are nursing, even at 1.5-2 years if they still are nursing. At this age, 2-3 night nursings are not uncommon.

That said, bedtime is 7:30/8, feedings are 1, 3, and sometimes 5, and up for the day 6:30/7.

  • Bed at 7:30, up at 7:30 (formula fed). I also snooze longer if he's not crying/fussing when he wakes up!
  • Bed at 6:30 pm, up between 5:30 and 6:00 am.  No night wakings/feedings.  As long it is at least the 5:00 am hour, I'll get up if I hear him rustling around/making noise.  If he's losing his mind at 4:00, of course I'd get up, but if he's just rolling around and whatnot, then I just leave him and he almost always falls back asleep quietly.  After 5:00 am whenever he's up, he's up for the day.  I really wish he'd do like 7 to 7, but I can't complain too much.

  • In bed 6:30-7 and up between 6 and 7. I bring them in our bed for morning bottles and try to get a few more minutes sleep. Sometimes they doze too.

We've had some schedule upsets lately that have resulted in 11, 1 or 4 o'clock wake ups and I am reminded how much I do not miss night feedings. Hats off to those still doing them everynight. I function SO much better with a full night's rest.

This. I have to wake Liam up at 6am on weekdays but on weekends he usually sleeps until 7-7:30.

  • We got to bed around 8 and he wakes up anytime between 6:30 and 7:30 most mornings. He is up about every 1.5 to 2 hours to nurse, occasionally every hour, with maybe a 3-4 hour stretch near the beginning of the night. Sometimes it takes 5mins, other times it takes 10.

It is very common for babies to wake at night to feed at this age. Even if they sttn it is usually considered 6-8 hours and most babies need about 11hrs I sleep at this age. Here is a great article about sttn:

  • I've been wondering about this lately. We usually have one of two scenarios.... Always bed around 7:30ish. But sometimes he sleeps through the night but wakes for the day sometime in the 5 o'clock hour. Or sometimes he wakes to feed at 4, then goes back down and sleeps until 6:30. When he wakes up in the 5 o'clock hour, I've tried acting exactly like it's 4 am but he won't go back down. He just cries and cries and is up for the day. It's so strange..... I don't know if I should be trying to change anything to get him to sleep in later? Maybe get him to bed earlier? 7:30pm - 5am doesn't seem like enough sleep.....

This happens once in awhile.... If C wakes up before 5, which is typical, she wants to nurse and go back to sleep but if she wakes up for the first time at 5 she's up for the day! I think it has to do with hormone levels at different times of the day as our doctor explained it to us.
  • Asleep at 7pm, and usually sleeps till 7am. Last week though she had been waking up at 5am. I'm hoping it's a phase
