Any Military Mommies?

My pregnancy may have messed up our orders to Japan. My husband may have to leave me here and I'll catch up after the baby is born and what not. Has anyone else had a newborn and moved  overseas with the military? I keep asking my husband questions to which he can not answer any questions because he does not know the answers. I know this might be a narrow niche topic so if y'all can direct me to right board/ community for this question it would be greatly appreciated.

  • I've tried posting to the military board, it isn't super active :( I posted four months ago and my thread was still on the first page the last time I checked. I got maybe one reply on it. It's worth a try, though! We are already overseas so we won't have to move with a newborn but I definitely feel for you!
  • Thank you (and you husband) for your service!
  • I'm military. The Air Force regulations prohibit moving a pregnant woman after a certain point in her pregnancy. I don't remember what it is but usually you can still move if a doctor signs off on it. I don't know if they would let you for such a far move. I also don't know if all the services are that way. Your husband should be able to contact who ever writes the orders (for the Air Force that's AFPC) and see if they can move the report date. Sometimes they will and sometimes not. I don't know how much help that was :-/
  • Glad you got an answer! We are pcs's this summer, just not oversees! I've never moved and I'll have a newborn! This should get interesting haha

Yea I won't be moving because I have to stay here until May to graduate from college. But we have heard about the plus or minus 6 months but his squadron will deploy and he figured I could stay stateside but I still am not sure what to do with the newborn baby prior to transit. That's my biggest worry.

Good luck! I moved when I was 5 months pregnant with my son so I never moved with a newborn either. I'm really nervous especially because I might be doing it by myself.
