Re: Second and Third Trimester Discussion (12/01)
@mmheartspb - try compression stockings. I was having a lot of edema in my legs around 25 weeks and the full stocking with moderate compression helped immensely. I peed like a horse that first day of wearing them.
I ordered mine on Amazon. Warning though - they are hard to get into - you might need help from YH to pull them on in the morning.
It was something my naturopath suggested. It works for me
Sex? LOL.. It's just embarrassing now. "whale wars" (a term I learned on my September '13 board) is what it is. Not enjoyable, and I don't even pretend to. I'm exhausted and huge and baby's riding high so I can't even breathe.. Sex? yeahokaywhatever
@ToriGirl2014 @mmheartspb I second those compression socks. Those things are amazing.
@peggels24 Though my little guy's movement has slowed down (31 weeks), when he does move it's not comfortable (not that I'm complaining - feeling him move is the only thing keeping me sane). He sometimes gets really active - and yeah: ow. Organs get kicked, my pelvic floor gets jabbed, and my bladder, well, it has not held up. My husband is not impressed with how often I say: I peed a little. :S
Contractions are still wearing me out and I feel like I'm carrying her all under my belly button:( exhausting with a 2 1/2 year old you is trying to stay up all night partying!

@mmheartspb I didn't gain much weight until starting at about 31.5wks. My OB only wanted me to gain 10-15lbs (overweight to start with). By 36.5wks I had gained 30lbs, but had a lot of swelling.
Csection was at 37w3d, and when I got home 4 days later, I weighed myself and was down 20lbs. LO is 3w2d now and I'm 4lbs under my pre-pg weight and still holding fluid in my feet.
I just wanted to reinforce that a lot of weight really is water weight, and it especially builds in the last few weeks.

@MoreThanSparrows08 my midwife palpates my belly at my last two appointments to check LO's position. At 28wk she was still breech/transverse and at my appointment last week she told me she was head down. I think she's right because I am getting the crap kicked out of my ribs, which I hadn't felt before. I have an u/s this afternoon so I will find out for sure. Also the mw has switched from the Doppler to a stethoscope at the same two appointments to listen to the HB. She let me listen to it both times but to be honest the first time I just pretended to hear. It is so insanely quiet you almost can't hear it, even after the mw has "found it" and heard it herself it still took me a minute for my ears to hear anything but silence.
@mandi195 pregnancy sex USED to be amazing for me. That was before I was put on pelvic rest at 18w. Womp womp. If I get cleared after my u/s today I will let you know if I find a good position

*~*~* All AL Welcome*~*~*
Occasional itchies, belly, arms, knees, whatever- sometimes I have a rash, mostly not...
Carpal tunnel has been a drag.... my fingers are numb all the time! I have a hard time with fine motor stuff, I drop little things I cant feel, Q tips, pens, etc....
the worst is if my palms itch or hurt- I tell my DH it is cruelly unfair to have numb and itch or numb and pain simultaneously! !!
Happy to be pregnant still. And so far the worst has been bearable.... but I do know it's coming :-) I just tell myself, 2 more months max... :-)
Y'all I am sick. So so sick. I went to the doctor and no flu, no strep, no infections. She said it is just some kind of cold like virus. I feel like hell. My sinuses hurt and are full ears are full of fluid and keep trying to pop and never do, nose running and stuffy at the same time, throat hurts, and i am dry coughing (nothing comes up!) sneezing...add to it normal pregnancy aches and pains and not being able to find a comfortable way to sleep... I am miserable. The only thing that gets me through it is feeling peep move in there. That is still so amazing and makes me smile even while i feel like chopping of my head... To relieve sinus pressure... Doc has me taking sudafed, robatusen, a nasal rinse, and tylenol. I have sat in the steamy bathroom a fee tines it seems to help.
I'm sure as soon as I hit "post", I'm going to get swelling in my feet
