TTC After a Loss

Femara/FemVue

Hey Everyone, back in September I had a miscarriage. Now 2 months later we are able to start trying again. This most recent cycle I took femara and then had the Femvue done today. So my question is.... has anyone had the Femvue done and then had positive results?? Thanks!

  • OP, first, I would like to say that we are all very sorry for your loss. This is a great community and I encourage you to post a proper intro and join in giving support to others.

I had to google what a Femvue was. It looks like it is a type of HSG (as PPs said) that is geared to checking to see if your tubes are clear.  I'm a little confused from your post because it sounds like you did Femara and then had this done the same cycle - which would be kind of a waste of a medicated cycle.

As far as positive results, I'm guessing you are asking if anyone got pregnant the same cycle after having something similar done? This question would be better asked on PgAL (pregnant after a loss).  Unfortunately, if any women here did have "success", they found themselves back here.

From my reading and what I was told after I had my HSG, there may be a minimal increase in fertility for one to two cycles (like a couple percent, not much). My understanding is that there is not a clear link but maybe someone knows of a study that shows more. There are so many variables that would go into why something like this might increase fertility (an unknown blockage that got cleared out by the study, women switching to more aggressive fertility treatments afterwards, etc.).

Asking your RE would probably be your best bet.
