I'm 15 weeks pregnant. I've been admitted to the hospital because of both issues. I'm so concerned about the baby because already been exposed to so many medications and a ct scan. Has anyone else faced these issues and had a healthy full term baby?
Yes. I am now. Hospitalized overnight three times, go in on the reg for IV fluids.
Mine is so severe I have broken ribs, gotten Mallory Weiss tears up and down my esophagus that bleed when I puke and hurt when I swallow anything other than a slushie, and blew out blood vessels in both my eyes and nose with bleeding. I have lost close to 26 lbs since it started (about five weeks for me) and my hair is falling out in the back to the point my hairdresser is now making me some kind of toupee hairpiece to wear on my head lmao. Not funny but you have to laugh to keep from crying. I am pale almost green, and feel like I look most of the time, usually worse. Depression too.
HG is very serious, but only to you. The baby can be fine as long as upi do WHATEVER you need to do to take care of yourself. Demand help from those you love. You'll need it. Sip slowly even though i know how strong the temptation to gulp is. Don't do it. Take a ton of hot baths and showers. Just lay in the shower and let the warm water envelope your body, I swear nothing feels better after you've puked for te hundredth time. You'll pull muscles in you neck and back, ask for rubs. You'll get knots otherwise that hurt like hell every time you retch.
I am here if you need a shoulder to vent on. You can message me or just ask here. I'll check back.
Good luck girl.
Ps I know nothing about blood clots, that sounds serious.... Details?
I had both with my first pregnancy. Spent almost every week in hospital. My son was born full term and healthy. I am also having it with pregnancy #2. It does get better. But the puking did make my bleeding worse. So take the medication.
Sorry I forgot to add that I had HG with my first as well though not as severely as with this pregnancy. My son was born healthy, albeit a bit small- 5 lbs- but for my size it was okay I guess. He gained quickly. He was born 3 weeks and 6 days early but he was give a 9 apgar score and had no problems!!
Im up tonight sick as a damn dog. Been going on day two now and will probably go to hospital in the AM
My mom had HG with both my brother and me. She was in the hospital over 18 times with the both of us. We were both almost 9 lbs. No matter how sick you're getting your baby is getting the nutrients they need. We were both full term.
I have had HG and a blood clot, but my clot was a post-partum complication, not during pregnancy. Of the two, I believe the clot poses more risks. Where is the clot or did you have a pulmonary embolism? You will be on blood thinners for the rest of your pregnancy and about 6-8 weeks after delivery to help make sure your body doesn't form anymore clots. Lovenox and/or heparin is okay to take while pregnant, it's just a matter of finding the right dose so that you don't develop more clots, but also don't think the blood too much. You'll need to be off the blood thinners when you give birth so you may need a more controlled labor and delivery, but I've been on blood thinners for my last two successful pregnancies and thankfully never experienced any bleeding issues during delivery. I hope the same for you.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
