September 2012 Moms

Any fun plans this weekend?

No football for us today so we have some freedom. I don't know what to do when L gets up from her nap. Any good ideas?

Re: Any fun plans this weekend?

  • I had a test this morning and now have homework to do. No fun in this house ;)

The mall had a parade this morning, so if we get antsy around here we may go to the mall. The tree is up and there's stuff going on there.

  • Going to a hotel so we'll swim and go out for supper with the in-laws. I am going to try to convince them to go to the children's museum too.

Tomorrow I have a wedding shower for my sister and then we have tickets for our NHL team.

  • We did Thanksgiving shopping today. Tomorrow will be cleaning, as usual. DH may put the outside lights up tomorrow since the weather will be a little warmer.

We went out last night for a going-away party for a co-worker from H's firm. It was dinner and a live 2nd City show. So funny.
This morning jack and I went to Morning with Mom and made gingerbread houses, while Will and H went to soccer tots. Today has been spent sorting and organizing toys, and we're going to make homemade pizza later.
Tomorrow we head to to the suburbs for a baptism. Busy weekend after a few in a row that weren't.
And I'm still tying to get to our damn apple orchard one more time this season. They close next weekend and it snowed last weekend and today it was freezing rain.

You guys! I have nothing to do until 6:30 tonight!!!!!! This has never happened before on a weekend. The big kids are at a birthday party. Their dad took them and is dropping them off. I don't have to do anything!!!!!! DH is at work, Sawyer is napping and Lennon and I are watching One Tree Hill. Today is awesome. I am choosing to ignore how crazy busy tomorrow and the rest of the week is. Especially the Chuck E. Cheese birthday party we have to go to on Monday night. For now, that doesn't exist. Also, I can't believe Peyton and Lucas named their daughter Sawyer on OTH!!!!!!!!!!
Ha, I can't believe you didn't know that. I have never watched the show and even knew that :)

  • The boys went to the park this morning while I cleaned and made a few Christmas card options for DH to pick from. Now they are all asleep and I'm finalizing what I still need to buy for James' party. When they wake up the boys are getting hair cuts, we will do a little shopping, and then out to dinner. And I need a wine store run.
Tomorrow it is going to rain all day. We were supposed to go to a local BMX race that James is going to start racing in next spring. This is the last race of the season so I'm bummed it is going to get rained out. We will probably go to my parents and watch a little of the Cowboys game before bedtime.

We went furniture shopping this morning. I wanted gray, which narrowed it quite a bit. I wanted a couch and loveseat, and we found a couch and one of those 1 1/2 chairs with ottoman and a sidetable. Kind of the same. It will be here Tuesday! Merry Christmas to us! And birthdays and anniversaries... Now to sell our current couch on fb, which I hate doing.

DH and my brother are putting up the outside Christmas lights tomorrow. (I should probably tell them that. Lol) I also convinced my mom that she wants to give me the plastic santa and frosty that used to belong to my Gramps. Totally vintage and tacky and I'm so excited!
I have an old school Santa from my poppy too, I love that thing but it's definitely too early for me to put it up plus I'm scared someone will steal him even though we live in the country
  • I can't go Thanksgiving grocery shopping until Wed afternoon. Hold me. And my options are to pick up DD right at lunch. Not happening. Or to go after groceries which will probably be right at nap. Not happening. Maybe the theater will be open early and I can catch a movie?

We separated kids tonight and it stabbed me in the heart. They have never been apart for more than a couple hours since DD had NICU time, the first two days after birth. They're best friends.

They were so excited about their new beds (we upgraded to real beds) and fun sheets. We had them help with the deconstruction of toddler beds and assembling the new ones. I thought it would go okay. The second the doors shut, they wailed. They didn't cry for DH or I like normal. They wanted each other.

Eventually, they settled and tucked themselves in. I can't help but feel bad though. It's for the best. Sharing a room wasn't working anymore. However, it took every ounce of strength to not run up there, reunite the pair, and have us all cuddle in a big bed. Mom guilt was intense tonight.
Aww! They will be okay. Did they reunite this morning like it had been ages?

  • Yesterday we ended up spending time at the farmstand where we pick up our CSA. The pig was begging L for food. It was super cute. Then we went to Target to drop off my prescription and pay in the toy aisle. By the time we were ready to leave it was dinner time. Worked out perfectly for keeping her occupied.

This morning we went to a hotel that creates a big inside Ice show. They create giant ice sculptures to tell the Frosty story, have some big ice slides, show a guy actually carving the ice sculptures, etc. It was pretty cool (literally, they keep it at 9 degrees!) Then L got to ride a train all by herself. She was so excited.

Now home for football and prepping for the week.
