These are actually for my BFF who is due in Feb, her shower is next Saturday.  This was my first experience with a sewing machine, my mom helped a bit too.  The quilt is her nursery colors and the taggie is mine, and I'll make myself a quilt out of those fabrics and a taggie for my baby from her fabrics

It was actually surprisingly easy! My mom has made us quilts for years and I always found the prospect daunting but honestly the sewing machine is amazing and it does a lot of the work for you!

I asked my MIL is I could borrow her sewing machine because she doesn't even know how to use it and she wouldn't give it to me which is very unlike her so I'm hoping it's a sign she got me one for Christmas!

I can't take credit for that, it was all my mom.  I cut the squares and quilted them but she pieced them together.  I think I will try piecing them together on my own blanket but didn't want to give a wonky quilt as a gift!

I LOVE the snuggle flannel print that has all the baby words on it. My mom does handmade recieving blankets out of the flannel, sewing little x's with dmc thread on the borders to hem them.

I really like the taggie- hadn't thought of making my own instead of buying one, @beebe918‌! Those are both so cute!

Love it and that minke fabric is so soft.

My DS loved tags so much that I bought him one and the only tag he'd go after was the actual tag! So I'll save my money and make one for #2!

Can't wait to find out what we're having, pick some fabric and start making a quilt. Love quilting!
