Hand foot and Mouth

I got the dreaded text from a mom in our playschool that her son developed blisters around his mouth and on his hands hours after playschool yesterday. Of course her son loves to touch my son and that was no exception yesterday. But they also played together the two days prior. I'm not looking forward to seeing if it manifests. I don't know at what point he became contagious, but we were definitely exposed. Just sucks things like this can't really be prevented because they are sometimes contagious with no symptoms.

Yeah, I got the flu going around at DS2'S preschool and Mono going around at DS1'S school. It's never ending when your kids are in school or daycare.

@T1green‌ that sounds terrible for him. I'm really hoping our immune systems can knock it out. We are staying home from activities bc I don't want to be a perpetrator of virus sharing. That kind of sharing is not caring

Hopefully you've already had it so won't get it again. My daughter had it a month ago, yuck. The plus side is once blisters manifest on the hands kiddos are no longer contagious (here is some good info regarding contagiousness, when kids can be back around each other)

@kellyfm522 I actually have no idea, my DH who is an MD sent to it to me when my daughter had it because our entire block ended up with it to send to my neighbor who was panicking- got to love that our whole neighborhood goes to the same daycare.

I was going to say that as well...once the blisters come out they are no longer contagious. DS had it earlier this year. Its not fun...hopefully you wont get it!

My ds had it last year. It was the worst thing he has ever had. He was so miserable. And then I got it too. The sore throat was the worst part. Weirdest part about it was a few months after two of his toe nails fell off and apparently it was related to when he has the virus! So weird.

Thanks ladies. The problem is, he was with this other boy Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Sunday was nursery at church, and Monday was a mommy group function and neither of those days I was 100% watching DS. And other little guys blisters appeared Tuesday. DS seems fine so far but, we are supposed to travel Friday. So just going to have to wait and see. I really don't want to have to cancel our trip but I won't be a spreader!

DD had this in the summer and then shared her germs with me. It started with a fever and extra fussiness. She was 8 months at the time. She had minor blisters - the worst of it being on her legs and bum. I had it a million times worse. Not to the point of T1Greens bf but the fever and aches just about killed me. DD seemed to rebound pretty quickly but took a good week and a half to be fully back to her normal self. FX you manage to escape the germs!
