  • I think the high risk board is as good as you're going to get. It's not GD specific, but there are a lot of ladies over there, at various stages, going through it.

12 long, hard years of TTC-
Miscarriages, losses, lots of treatments & drugs & IVF

Natural BFP (WTF?!) - 06/04/11 ~ lots of complication and drama, but sweet baby Adele born 02/07/12!

BFP #million -another girl for us! EDD - 05-08-15 (but will come early)

  • Not really questions I know what I am doing just support as I am only 12 weeks and midwife wants me to start diet now; soo suckkks but it's the best for the baby! thankkks ladies!

  • You can get support here, too, as I've been through it (and continued as a Type II), and I know a bunch of other ladies have as well.

    YOU CAN DO THIS!

  • I have taken the sugar test already at about 10 weeks and the results said I passed but dr. wants me to follow the diet and test my blood. my 1st fasting # is too high.. this might mean insulin sooner (not looking forward to this) just suckss! and I try and look at the positive that it's the best for baby (& I would do anything for baby and my daughter) & it should keep my weight in check. but I didn't want to have to worry about all this yet! just a bummer...

and I need snack ideas for 15g & 30g any suggestions? I need them for on the go

thanks for reading I know I am complaining I am just frustrated!

  • I'm a type 2, I've delivered before and it wasn't a big baby, no problems just test and eat lower carb. I stick with around 40-50 carbs a meal, I believe these are the same requirements for GD. It is def not a bad deal and can help you not gain too much weight during your pregnancy! Have some some fun meal planning.
  • Glad I saw this. I failed my one hour test and take my 3 hour test Monday. That is if I can get by without throwing up. :( I'm nervous I'll fail this one but if I do at least I know I will get to meet with a dietician and stick to a healthy eating plan. Plus I already have some tips from all you ladies. Thanks!
  • Nice to see this! I'm 14 weeks and was just diagnoses second time around. Also looking for snack ideas in the 15-30 g of carb range. Kimdave maybe we can email?
  • Granola bars are usually my on the go snack. Quaker ones are usually around 15-25 carbs. Pistachios or almonds are great too. There are lots of great resources online as well as magazines specifically for diabetes friendly foods.
    Type 1 diabetic for >11yrs.
Best of luck. You've got this!
