My daughter's name is Alegra, which is the Spanish version of Allegra (a very Italian name). I love it and suggest it. I don't care about the medicine association.
Seriously, this is the most love I've gotten for her name on TB When I suggested it on the Baby Names board back in 2012 when I was considering it, everyone told me it was horrible. It truly fits her (it means joyful) and I've never regretted picking the name. My family on the other hand still hates it and insists on calling her Aly. Eventually they'll come around.

My little brother has said since he was 5 that he will name his daughter Allegra. I don't even know where he heard the name because I don't know any personally, but I love it and hope someday I have a niece named Allegra.
@LinnyDan12 - how old is your brother? When my younger brother (who is 23 now) was younger, there was a show on Nickelodeon named "Allegra's Window." Maybe that's where?
