Sex reveal ideas

On 12/8 we're finding out the sex of LO. I was always team green, however, I think DH might literally die if we don't find out. 

Since its right around Christmas time I'm thinking we might include this in our Christmas card this year.

I've been pinteresting all night but nothing has really wow'd me for picture ideas. Since you ladies are clearly the experts I figured I'd go to you guys for suggestions.

Edited for clarification: is this a stupid idea? Does anyone other then H and I reallycare what we're having??

We're revealing the sex at a small family party, mainly because my cousin had a reveal party and my mom got super excited about it and said she would throw one for us, too.  Cousin did the cupcakes with pink or blue frosting on the inside (it was pink).  DH suggested that since it would be around Christmas we could have Christmas cupcakes and tell the bakery to do green frosting for a girl and red frosting for a boy.  Then after it's "revealed" to the family, I will reveal it to Facebook.

The grandparents may be as excited as you are!! I wanted to be team green also but my hubby and grandparents are dying to know! Maybe do something special for the grandparents? Sorry I'm not very creative

oh you're welcome I'm taking a course on discrimination right now and my professor constantly says "gender" and it takes everything in my being to not correct. I'm not getting into it with my class.

You could do a picture of you guys holding pink or blue baby booties, balloons or something more Christmas-y like stockings and have the whole picture be in black and white except for whatever it is revealing the sex and just have that be pink or blue.  Sorry, that's all I got!

I was actually going to write a post like this yesterday but wasn't sure if it was already mentioned... So the anatomy scan is supposed to be 18-20 weeks and for me 18 weeks is the week before Xmas. I want to do like a surprise gender reveal and not tell anyone that we found out but I can't really think of ideas. My only idea is giving my parents a picture frame saying it's a girl/boy with a 3d ultrasound pic for a present and that's basically all I can think of :-/

You are doing the reveal via xmas cards? I like the handprints on the shirt pics. Or, blue or pink confetti in the card.

I really only plan to 'reveal' to family, and my anatomy scan is the week before Christmas, so I plan on wrapping a box filled with something (balloons, tissue paper, something) either pink or blue and having the grandma's open it on Christmas Day.

Eta- if your wanting to do something via Christmas cards, try to think of what will photograph easily. Personally I find US pics to be a bit... Too personal to share with the world, but maybe you can have a pic of you and your DH and one of you is holding a onesie that specifies the sex?

Christmas ornament is a brilliant idea! Sex or even just announcement to family! I haven't told any family yet.

We're only planning to reveal to close friends and family too, but wanted to include something in our Christmas card this year to extended friends/family instead of just Facebook. I agree, US are just a little to personal to me. I'm sure we'll think of something!

I love the idea of a black and white picture of stockings on a mantel with the middle one the only thing in color. Also i would look up or write a witty Christmas poem in the card that ends with something about the sex.

I picked the envelope up at the ob and took it home to DH, he had previously wrapped two trees in Christmas lights, one red and one blue. I recorded on a video camera as he plugged in the right lights for our baby girl! We shared the video with our family and it was fun for DH to surprise me, since I surprised him with the pee stick!

Aww I love this! We're IVF'rs so zero surprises on our end (part of the reason I wanted to be team green - however H doesn't do so well with patience and surprises, hah). Since we are finding out I'm still trying to think of ways we can be "surprised" other then just finding out at the US, but my lack of thought processing isn't really working well for thinking of ideas.

I have a big box that is half blue and half pink on the front it says pink or blue what do you think. I am going to have a friend fill it with either pink or blue balloons because I wanna be surprised to. I am inviting my close friends and family over for the reveal party.

We are going to have the US tech put either "girl" or "boy" in an envelope and then I am going to go to a store and pick out 2 outfits, one blue and one pink. I am going to hand the cashier the envelope and have them wrap up which ever outfit matches the envelope. DH and I will open the package on Christmas...if we can wait that long!
