big busted petite mamas!

Okay ladies, I was a full 32DD at 5'3" 110 lbs. Now I don't fit in any of my bras rib cage or cup wise. I'm looking for a bra that will get me through the next six months as well as double as a nursing bra... any suggestions would be so very appreciated!

I have tried several and I honestly went to Walmart and found the one I like best there (only happens during pregnancy)! I don't remember the brand, but I'm big busted as well and they have worked the best for me through both pregnancies, so far. It is a nursing bra too.

  • I started at a 32C before DD and ended at a 32F/G or 32DDD - same thing I think. Bravado bras are my absolute fav. They have a more structured one that I wear when going out and a comfy one that I wore 24/7 in the first few months. They're both maternity/nursing bras.

  • Thanks for posting this! I'm running into the issue of where my boobs are definitely growing (I am already starting to bust out of the new D cups I just bought) my rib cage is not. I'm not seeing a lot of brands carrying 34DD/E so hopefully these ones do!

  • Thank you so much ladies! I actually id check out walmarts nursing bras the other day but I was skeptical of how nice they are, good to hear a good review! (: ill also check out the brand some of you ladies suggested. Thank you so much!
  • How is Bravado for returns?  I am worried about measuring myself and guessing incorrectly. I haven't been measured since I got pregnant but I no longer fit in my 32DD or 34D.  VS is a total waste of time!
  • I am in Canada and we have pretty limited maternity retailers (aside from Walmart and Target).  I went to a Thyme Maternity where they had one person working in a large store.  I obviously didn't get size and got tired of rummaging through the bras trying to find a close size.  It seems like they were either all Bs or like GGGs lol.  I bought some cheap ones up a size but they don't actually fit and I am already overflowing :( Maybe I'll give Walmart a go for at least some temps till I can order in some nicer ones.
  • Just have to sort out the sizing now!
  • www.herroom.com.  Go to a specialty lingerie store and get a proper fitting. Then order from the website.  Much cheaper and they are great about returns.  They also have really good sales.
  • Try motherhood maternity. They are a little expensive, but if you can get them on sale there worth it and of course they double as a nursing bra. I went from a 38DDD to a 38E within my first 6 weeks. I am now almost "popping" out of the E. I'm not sure if they have any bigger size cups, so I'm going to have to start shopping around.
  • Just to add - motherhood maternity and thyme etc. don't carry smaller than a 34.

  • Fig leaf.com has very nice , comfortable, and durable nursing bras. I liked that I could get super cute nursing bras that fit me. I started at a 34 dd and am already in a 34 g. I know their sizes go up through h with a good selection. They have more sizes after that but I don't know about the selection. I have used bra's from them for the last two pregnancies and loved them. Good luck ladies
  • I don't have to worry about them not carrying below a 34 anymore :/ Haha sadly my 32 inch ribcage feels like a distant memory. For second+ mama's, did your ribcage return to its pre pregnancy size after your first baby?

I'd actually love an answer to this too- how much did you breasts go down too? Should I burn all my old bras or hang on to all my bras until my breasts/rib cage settle on a post-breast feeding size?

  • My first one I went back to my 34 but not the d I have been a large dd since my first it never went down any more. But with my second they went back to 34 dd after a while.

I was a 32D with my first and grew to a 34 F, only place I could find a good fitting bra was the fitting touch. I've not quite out grown this bra yet but I am scared to death at how much bigger they will get. I'm 5"5 and weigh 120. It's killing me. Btw mine never went down!
  • If I remember correctly they show you how to measure yourself online, and their bras fit a "range" so they totally grow with you. I bought one late last pregnancy and totally wished I had bought more sooner! It fit really well and was still fine when my milk came in and my boobs became crazy huge. I bought the full coverage one.

  • Got fitted (32DDD) and got a 34F to be on the safe side.  I found a Bravado retailer and the sales people were super helpful.  The bras aren't cheap but no more expensive than a regular price VS bra.  I bought 2 that are pretty normal bras but I have to say I am already looking forward to buying the sports bra-type ones in my 3rd/breastfeeding time.

Is anyone finding it comfortable to sleep in bras?  I've heard this from a few people but never do it.

  • I ended up going for the European nursing bras (you can get them on amazon). They have sizes for small rib cage and larger chest. It is so hard finding a bra that fits!
