Terrified for today's appt

I'm going to apologize in advanced because I know our 2nd and 3rd tri ladies are probably over these post but I can't find anyone who understands my fear. I am seeing my new OB for the first time today (9w0d). (Finally graduated from RE) and I'm so scared it's going to be a bad appt. I saw the HB at 6w6d and it was 127, and I know the chances of MC goes down to about 5% at that stage but I just can't help but to think its not going to be a good appt. Of course I pray it will be.... Idk. I guess I'm just nervous, freaked out, and will so heart broken if it's not a good one. Do/did you guys feel this way too?

I think I had similar feelings.  If you're like me, you'll find that every time you make it past a new appointment with no bad news, it gets a little easier to relax.

But, I'm not going to blow smoke up your butt - I'm 14w today (yay me!), and I'm still worried about losing my babies... but I am a little more confident now, than I was 2 weeks ago, that I will be a mom in the not-to-distant future.

Chin up.  Good luck with your appointment.  Keep us posted.

I definitely felt this way, for those of us that go through IF - it's just natural emotions unfortunately. I agree though that eventually your fears start to lessen over time. Now, I look forward to hearing her heartbeat and the ultrasounds. Good luck today!!!

Yep.. it's terrifying, but it does get easier! I don't think I "enjoyed" or even talked about being pregnant until 14w. Looking back, that's a lot of time I could of soaked it up and been happy. So have no fear & let your self be happy.

No need to apologize. We're a kind, understanding bunch over here & don't care if the same or similar topics are posted. We all have been through a difficult journey & the worry is sadly natural for us. I wish I could tell you the worry goes away but it doesn't completely. Hang on there & I hope you have a great appt. I was def. a wreck before my US appts. I am still very early in the pregnancy and am getting more confident every time. It's sad that we cannot be naive and whimsical but it's harsh to struggle with not being able to trust your body.

I keep thinking the feeling goes away and right now at 19 weeks I only think of it maybe every other day.. more when I'm closer to appointments.

Maybe when I feel the baby move, or pass V-day... maybe then I won't be totally anxious and a complete b*tch all day long.

I'm right there with you! I have an appt on Friday and the wait seems to be going soooo slow! I just am so anxious to see if all is well. So you're in good company! Reading what other posters have said gives me hope that if all keeps going well then I'll eventually be able relax. Seems impossible to think of now though since I'm still so early. 8 weeks tomorrow...just trying to see each week as a huge milestone.

I completely relate to this! I was so nervous for our first OB appt on Monday and everything looked great so I got relieved for a moment and now I get to be nervous about the nt scan in a few weeks. I can't wait until the nervousness at every appt subsides.

Late to the party, but excited to see AW pictures of your ultrasound!!!! Or at least hear everything is okay ;-)

And the day I "get sick" of fellow infertility survivors stressing about pregnancy is the day I forgot how hard it was to get where I am.

Please, please verbally smack me if I ever get too busy to offer some comfort to a woman who has worked SO hard for a baby and is afraid to get her hopes up! It does get easier - it wasn't until my 2nd ultrasound at 9w that it felt more real and I actually cried. I was too convinced at the first ultrasound that something would definitely go wrong that I couldn't even let myself get excited.

I hope today gives you lots of confidence in this pregnancy! You aren't alone!!!!

Well here's my update. Baby is fine. HB was 172 it was so fun to see the the little numbs that we call arms and legs wiggling around and the dr was happy with everything. Good enough for me! Thank you ladies for calming my nerves once again.

So glad to hear good news! Seriously, we all get it. No need to apologize. Even now, if I go any length without feeling movement it freaks me out. And I have dopplers and ultrasounds available to me at all times...can't tell you how many times I've resorted to checking for peace of mind. Glad you're good!!
